Despite having passports expiring in November, Ryanair web/app won’t let me check in for a trip planed this week

My children’s Dutch passports expire in November 2026.

We arrive in Morocco on 20 August 2026, and the Ryanair app refuses to let me complete online check-in for either of them because it requires their passports to be valid for at least three months after our arrival date.

Both children are affected by the same issue.

Does anyone know whether they will be allowed to travel to Morocco with their current passports and, if so, how I can complete their check-in with Ryanair?

Do I take the risk or is it strongly recommended to take an emergency passport? I’d rather avoid those extra costs of course..

Weird artefacts/glitches

I’m trying to diagnose a very strange graphical issue that started shortly after swapping my LG G3 with a new LG G6

The glitches you see only appear in a split-second flash. I had to record the TV with my phone and slow the footage down to actually capture it properly. The flickering is caused by the recording. These glitches sometimes happen once every other minute, sometimes they happen a lot within just- a few seconds. Most of the time they cover the bottom half of the screen. As you can see the screen suddenly becomes completely corrupted/distorted with strange colours/patterns, then immediately returns to normal.

As I said it started happening after buying my new TV. I didn’t make any changes to the res of the setup.

PC
GPUASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC 32GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WiFi
RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000 CL30

What I’ve tested so far:

  • Reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers.
  • Tried multiple HDMI cables, including new ones.
  • Tested different HDMI inputs on the G6. It seems to be happening way more on HDMI 1 than the other ones.
  • Tested my PS5 pro on all inputs, no issues there.
  • Tested at 4K/120 Hz, 60Hz, HDR off, Gsync off, Still happening.
  • Pressed Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver while the problem was occurring — didn’t fix it.
  • Unplugged/reconnected HDMI — doesn’t definitively fix it, although interestingly the corruption sometimes doesn’t reappear for quite a while after reconnecting.
  • Restarting the computer has occasionally appeared to fix it temporarily, but I’ve since reproduced the problem after a restart as well.
  • Recorded the PC using Windows Snipping Tool screen recording while simultaneously filming the physical TV. The corruption appears on the TV/phone recording but does NOT appear in the Windows screen recording.
  • LG’s internal apps don’t seem to exhibit the problem. NVIDIA Shield doesn’t seem to exhibit the problem.

What are the very latest trends in terms of leveraging AI generated content?

I used to write content myself about ten years ago and I was pretty good at it. Then I became team manager and slowly got disconnected from my channel.

I am now working as a cofounder so I need to write content again.. myself. I thought I would enjoy the process more than I do ATM.

My main problem is starting my articles and LinkedIn content with ChatGPT. I get a good first draft in terms of directions, but it still sounds awfully AI. I tried different methodologies to make it sound better, such as adding humour, humanising, dropping the “LinkedIn bro vibe” etc, but I still can’t get articles of LinkedIn posts with a flow that feels natural.

I’m sure there are prompts or online resources for that. How would you go about it?

Not sure where to go next

Not sure where to go now. I was just instructed to go back to the library, assuming this is the main room with the robot with tentacles, I had a new cutscene that further unveiled the story. Not sure where to go next though

Im gradually losing faith in Volvo

Volvo XC 40 2021 full option owner here.

Never owned a car, paid this one in full, big commitment.

150k km and 4 years later, this car is nothing but a series of issues. Issues after issues, I’m also getting more and more acquainted with the lack of responsibility of Volvo, be it Volvo as an entity, or my local Garage in Rotterdam that keeps failing at repairing the car. I go there to bring back the car as a follow up for a bad repair more often than bringing it for the initial repairs. They. Keep. Fucking. Things. Up. Last year I went there FOUR times because they couldn’t get the paint right On a small body part that needed to be replaced.

And im not even talking about tbe cost for fixing the car or even the regular checkups. The rates are so sickening they should be illegal. And im talking « this will shock even higher middle class folks » kind of expensive.

I had issues with noises in the door when I drove at high speed, issues of speakers going mute randomly, issues with the infotainment system - like, a LOT of issues - and this summer, probably the one issue that will never make me buy a Volvo again. I have an issue with a weird noise in the front of the car that apparently would be so expensive to fix that I didn’t do it, so I have to live with it, and think about it every single hour spent driving the car hearing the noise.

But this summer was the last nail in the coffin.

We just left the Netherlands for summer holiday, rallying Spain from Rotterdam, and the AC stopped working once we hit Belgium. 30 degrees outside, two young kids at the back just « taking it in ». But that’s not the bad part. The bad part is Volvo’s unwillingness to help.

After jours lost in back and forth between Volvo assistance, and about 5 local Volvo garages, no one will help, that’s the reality of how things are handled now.

This means for us, 2 weeks in Spain with no AC.

There are worse things in the world, hence why Im not seeking sympathy for my situation. I’m only sharing this post to urge future Volvo owners to THOROUGHLY read up reviews and customer feedback - including posts here on Reddit - before buying a Volvo.

I was an advocate, I loved it 4 years ago. Proud of my car and such. 4 years later, I will never buy a Volvo ever again and I never want to have to deal with anyone representing the brand.

Special mentions to
- Volvo Rotterdam, very polite folks, terrible skills
- Volvo Clermont Ferrand (France) who blatantly lied to my face, using every excuses possible to avoid taking my car in
- Volvo Lyon (France), same experience
- Volvo Saint Etienne (France) , same experience

Here we go again.. Samsung S95H OLED or LG OLED G6 for gaming?

I’ve been reading a few threads but it’s hard to keep up with which TV is best, especially accounting for firmware updates that fix this and that issue.

I’ve been a LG owner for ten years, had a few different sets and currently own a G2.

I was going to get a G6 but I’m seeing a lot of threads recommending the Samsung instead. But I couldn’t really find out whether the last updates have fixed LG’s issues.

What TV should I go for? Buying in three weeks …

So.. some good club suggestions?

Friend visiting mid-July, he's asked me to bring him to a good club - or bar with a focus on music. We both like electronic music, but it doersn't have to be just that.

We're both 40. I personally used to go to Toffler or festivals back in the days, but when it comes to clubs I'm not sure what are the trendy places ATM.

Suggestions? Just no hip-hop or boomer places though

Layout ideas for a webgame?

I'm working on a jackbox games type project, where people can play games on a big screen using their phones as controllers. Imagine quiz-type videos games where players select the answers on their phoners.

Each controller layout has very little space left, and yet i want to add various layers of players micro interactions. The idea being to offer the players options to interract with the main screen when they're in a waiting state (while waiting for other players to select their answers for example).

For instance, players should be able to:
- quickly select from a list fo four preset emotes that will show on the big screen, on top of their avatar, during a game phase
- quickly select from a list of four preset animations, such as "throwing a tomato" which will trigger an animation where we see their avatar throw a tomato at the main screen
- quickly select from a list of four preset small sentences (like "you suck!")
- quickly select from a list of four preset voice lines.

More details on one of the screenshots.

Now I have no idea how to go about giving the players these options on the phone screen. One key element is that they should be quick to access and trigger, and easy to memorise. I've been thinking of a radial menu but I imagine holding the phone screen could trigger browser shortcuts.

Can't find anything online, I looked at game UX databases, many reddits posts, smartphone games UI best practices.. I've found nothing!

Where do you find your inspiration for game promo clips?

In my case I’m trying to make a video to promote (or just as content) a jackbox-style platform with games like quizzes, Wordle-type challenges, and other text-heavy party games.

I’ve been looking at many videos from other games but I’m struggling to find good examples that translate well to this kind of content.

Any suggestion? How would you go about that?

Can anyone give me a summary of what's happening with one piece?

My 9 yo is reading One Piece, she's at volume 96 I think. Somehow we were led to believe that One Piece had stopped, and yetserday she was showing me this handwritten letter she wanted to send Oda about being sad he stopped.

Did some googling only to realize One Piece is very much alive.

But I'm also reading about hiatuses, that it ended one before already, that the end is near.. etc.. I'm comfused by the whole thing.

Can someone give me a summary of what happened lately with one piece and what's to be expected?

Also comfused vy the overlap with the TV shows, the movies.. I understand sometimes it's connected, sometimes it's not, etc

A friend and I are working on the multiplayer version of this game: https://daily.gametje.com/nounsense/

None of us are UI designers so... we're trying our best. We spent a lof ot time looking up "word games online" to generate ideas but 99% of what we found looks pretty bad. The games from NY Times look decent and clean, but that's probably because they don't take much risks in terms of UI design .

Dooes anyone have references to share when it comes to UIs for games that are heavy on text?

Also open to feedback on the current solo game 😄
