Ryanair compensation payment - ART Italy

Hey everyone, so I was unjustly denied boarding by Ryanair and they refused compensation, so I went to the ART Italy (kinda like Aviation ADR) and there Ryanair agreed to pay me compensation and signed the formal agreement.

The agreement was signed on 30 July and according to the agreement Ryanair has 90 days to pay me from signing.

Looking for other people's experiences regarding compensation payments. How long did it take for you to get the compensation in your bank account after Ryanair said they'd pay.

*by the way after signing the agreement Ryanair hasn't contacted/updated me at all.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Help with redeeming Al Fursan miles

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته!

I have around 4500 Al Fursan miles lying around which are about to expire and I don't plan on booking any flights with Saudi Airlines soon. So, I decided to get a 100 SAR Amazon gift card from the Al Fursan store.

Despite trying multiple times the website kept giving an error and after contacting Saudi Airlines support I found out that only Saudi residents can redeem miles for gift cards and since I'm an Italian resident, I cannot.

I need someone's help in getting the gift card for me. I'll transfer the miles to your Al Fursan account which you can then use to get the Amazon gift card and send it to me.

I'd really appreciate the help. JazakAllah-u-khairan!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته!

Has anyone from one of the restricted nationalities (especially Pakistan) applied for an evisa on ksavisa.sa recently?

I have an Italian temporary student residence permit and was wondering if the application is getting approved these days or not or does it get sent to embassy?

Please share your experiences. JazakAllah-u-khairan!

Erasmus+ in Ankara as a Pakistani 🇵🇰

Merhabalar!

I'm a Pakistani 🇵🇰, Economics and Politics student at the University of Bologna, Italy 🇮🇹. I'll be coming to Ankara to spend a semester (September 2026 - January 2027) at Ankara University as part of the Erasmus+ program.

I wanted to ask a few questions. What's the general perception of Pakistan and Pakistanis in Türkiye, specifically Ankara? I know that there are a lot of misconceptions about us and our country (which I figured out from social media, don't know if it is widespread) among the Turks.

Is Ankara a good city to have fun, explore, and spend time as a student? Is it easy to make friends? I'm an open, respectful guy, I love to make new friends and explore cities and hike. I'm religious but not an extremist 😬.

I can speak a few languages (English, Italian, Urdu, Punjabi) and I'm actively learning more. I can speak Turkish at a conversational level (gotta brush it up a bit though). The previous Turkish ambassador's son was my friend, I picked it up from him.

How's the cost of living in Ankara, I'd really appreciate an estimate per month. And where can I find accommodation? I'm looking for a studio apartment for 5 months.

Is public transport efficient? Is it enough to go to every part of the city or would I need to get a bicycle? Also how do you guys go from Ankara to Istanbul on a budget (by train?).

Finally, what places should I definitely visit during my stay, in Ankara and the rest of the country?

Any other tips would be appreciated. I'm excited to visit soon.

Thank you!

Edit: Also are there a lot of cats in Ankara like in Istanbul? I love cats 🐈 😻

Erasmus+ in Ankara

Merhabalar!

I'm coming on an Erasmus+ mobility from Bologna, Italy to Ankara, Türkiye in September 2026 and am looking for accomodation there for 5 months (September 2026 - January 2027).

I'd be happy to get a studio apartment or a private bedroom (with a private bathroom) in a shared apartment.

What's the average cost these days? How much should I expect to pay including utilities per month?

Where should I search? For my previous Erasmus+ exchange in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I found accomodation through olx.ba.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

(Help!) Denied boarding for Ryanair flight from Sarajevo to Milan Bergamo (supposedly incomplete travel documents)

I just got denied boarding for a Ryanair flight from Sarajevo (SJJ) to Milan Bergamo (BGY).

I am a non-EU citizen with an Italian student residence pemit (currently lost, just have the photocopy). I applied for the renewal and have the ricevuta postale, the biometrics appointment letter, the police report and a photocopy of my lost residence permit.

According to Italian immigration rules and Ryanair's own travel documents FAQ I should be allowed to travel.

The airport check-in staff emailed Ryanair's immigration section and they asked the check-in staff to deny boarding.

What can I do in this case? Can I get any compensation?

This is clearly denied boarding while possessing valid travel documentation. The Italian embassy in Sarajevo also confirmed that I can travel with these documents (no written notice though because they said they cannot issue one and that I can travel on the above documents as per Italian law).

I called Italian border police at Milan Bergamo (BGY) and they too affirmed that I am ok to travel but they could not send an email to Ryanair (the check-in staff couldn't accept any information on call). I tried calling/live chat Ryanair but they're all closed due to non-business hours.

Can I get compensation, alternate flight, etc? Please help. What should I do?

(Help!) Denied boarding: Incomplete travel document (actually totally complete)

I just got denied boarding for a Ryanair flight from Sarajevo (SJJ) to Milan Bergamo (BGY).

Can I get compensation, alternate flight, etc? Please help. What should I do?

Edit/Update: I contacted the Italian Border Police (Polizia di Frontiera) at Milan Bergamo (BGY) through their certified email address. I sent them my documents (the same that I presented to Ryanair at check-in) and asked if I was permitted to travel and enter Italy. They replied that I was permitted to travel to and enter Italy as long as I don't transit through other Schengen states. I may transit through non-Shengen states.

This is what the law and the most recent circular issued by Polizia di Stato says and I informed Ryanair check-in staff about it but they still denied me boarding. I got another flight today with A-Jet and I have successfully reached and entered Italy.

I have filed a complaint with Ryanair regarding Involuntary Denied Boarding and will take the case to the ENAC if not addressed and compensated by Ryanair.

Travelling back to Italy on ricevuta (lost PdS)

Hey everyone 👋

I'm a student at the University of Bologna, Italy. I'm currently on an Erasmus+ exchange to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (non-EU).

A week ago I travelled to Italy to take an exam and lost my PdS there. I filed a police report and immediately applied for a renewal (Ufficio Immigrazione said to apply for renewal instead of duplicate since my PdS was going to expire in September 2026). Now I have the police report, ricevuta, biometrics appointment letter, and just the photocopy of my lost permesso.

Since I have exams in Sarajevo, BiH too I had to exit Italy. Now I have to return to Italy for another exam but I don't have the PdS, just the ricevuta.

I consulted with the Italian embassy in Sarajevo, BiH and they suggested that I try to travel on the ricevuta as that's the only option.

My flight is from Sarajevo to Milan Bergamo (direct flight) on 20 June with Ryanair and I'm really worried about boarding being denied. Will Ryanair let me board with the above documents?

I saw in a post a year ago someone shared a cicular from the Questura saying that it was ok to travel to Italy on the ricevuta. Could anyone share an updated version of that please?

Also any guidance or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Where do I get a medicated antidepressant?

Hey everyone 👋,

I'm an Erasmus+ exchange student in Sarajevo and I've been taking an antidepressant (Sertraline) for quite a few months now prescribed by my doctor in my home country (Pakistan, non-EU). I've just ran out and I need to buy more in Sarajevo.

Since a prescription is mandatory to purchase it in my home country, I guess it's the same here in Sarajevo. My doctor gave me a digital prescription.

My question is would the prescription from a Pakistani doctor work at a pharmacy in Sarajevo? And what pharmacy would be best?

I can't pause the medication for long otherwise it has severe withdrawal symptoms.

Thank you Egypt!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته!

Hey everyone 👋

A few weeks ago I posted in this sub asking for recommendations on places to visit in Cairo and general advice on travelling as a Pakistani 🇵🇰 student tourist.

I'm back from Egypt and I LOVED IT!!! The people were so nice and helpful. Most thought that I was Egyptian or Saudi and expected me to speak Arabic but were shocked when I couldn't, and realised when I told them I was Pakistani. But the people were so welcoming especially at mosques, restaurants and the taxi drivers.

Despite being chaotic, Cairo is beautiful in it's own way. The streets and markets buzzing with energy were a delight to see and walk through. The mosques - incredible. I really loved the collective recitation of the Quran at Imam Hussein Mosque.

Seeing churches and mosques side by side was beautiful.

The food was sooo good. Koshary Abu Tariq was great and the mango juices too. B-laban is my favourite thing now, craving it so much. 😋

The small talk with taxi drivers was cool and surprisingly no one pushed me to tip anywhere, I did where I felt like it.

Right now as I'm typing this in my bedroom, I'm really looking forward to visiting Cairo again.

May Allah bless the people of Egypt with prosperity! See you soon. 😊
