Applying for jobs as a very junior vet tech/ nurse and very nervous.
Hi all,
I used to work as an assistant many years ago and that is when I developed my interest in animal care. I did end up leaving that job as I was very young and wanted to travel etc.
I ended up going to study to be a veterinary nurse in 2020, however COVID made that quite difficult as I struggled to get placement due to the pandemic. I ended up waiting until everything calmed down and started my study again and graduated in 2024.
Unfortunately, I lived in a very small town and opportunities were hard to come by, so I was working as an assistant/bather/ receptionist at the local groomers for the time period.
My partner recently got an job opportunity over seas and we are in the process of moving. I decided to apply for jobs in the area of where we will be locating to, and I have had some replies and will be taking a zoom call in the next couple of days about the position.
Guys, I am so nervous. Mostly because I feel like I've been completely out of practice and feel completely out of my depth.
Could anyone provide general advice? I've been wanting this moment for years and now it feels all too real and I am kind of freaking out a bit.
