Hello, nothing is working!

Trying to evolve an Eevee into Sylveon before the night ends in a couple hours to get a headstart on the silly Diancie quest:

First; have an Eevee that I've been previously working on. Its firmly an ultra buddy, needs 88 hearts to become best buddy. I've put it on and fed it, played with it, got it to 7 hearts active rn and it will only evolve into Umbreon, not even the ? Random Evo.

Then; switched to an Eevee and named it Kira as I haven't used that Evo yet. Won't work. Put it on as buddy, gave it a poffin, got it to 10 hearts. Won't work.

I've tried restarting the game multiple times, switching to other buddies and switching back. I don't know what the problem is??

Got this guy in a trade the other day; just wanted it for vibes and to see what the best buddy ribbon looked like on Gimmigoul (pls no spoilers, I know I could just search it).

Now I'm really excited to say I've got a lucky, shiny, background, costume Gimmigoul!

Can't evolve it though, so it's not too useful, except for this brag lol

For anyone who doesn't know, the 'costume' is the coin not being the normal one (3 horizontal dots), and is instead the one featured in the background.

You can barely see the difference on them hahaha
