Planning ahead of PCE Hours

As I am planning how many hours a week I should work on my summer breaks/winter breaks, I've had this question:

How big is the difference between a 2.3K hour applicant vs a 2.6k hour applicant?

I'm deciding between 32hr/week vs 40-45hr/week.

NYC - Wrongful termination for reporting employer tax fraud?

Location: NYC

I found out recently that my employer has wrongfully classified multiple employees as 1099 employees to save money on their end. I am worried that if I were to demand them to classify me correctly as a W-2 Employee I would be fired. I've hinted and asked why I am a 1099 and their reasoning was that I am scheduled based on availability. I check every box of being a W2 employee and I do not believe giving availability is reason to be a 1099 employee.

Would I be able to sue them if I were to be fired shortly after demanding to be properly classified as a W2 employee?

Feel free to check my post history for my context about this job.

Forced to be a 1099 employee, how should I do my taxes?

employer's reason for making me a 1099 is because I gave them my availability and they scheduled me based on that. I dont think that is valid but this job (medical assistant) is important experience as a stepping stone towards my career goals so I cannot just quit. I do not want to ruin relationship with my employer as well by complaining or filing a form.

How do I file my taxes? I am 19 and I file my taxes alone. My first paycheck was 750 and I put 250 of that aside so I can use it to pay for taxes later on.

As a 1099 employee, am I paying quarterly taxes?? I've only ever been a W-2 employee. What percentage of my paycheck should I be setting aside for taxes?

I assume I have no deductibles because I'm working basically as a W-2 employee but I just have to pay more taxes since they want to save money and make me a 1099..

EDIT:

Thanks to everyone who have brought how serious this is to my attention. Since I am being classified as a 1099, I have decided I will look for another job as I am still working this one and quit when I find a new one. I will file a report to the IRS after I can safely secure a new job.

I've failed two of my recent blood draws and I was told by the providers that it was due to going too deep and then going too superficial.

How do you tell? Both times I've had flash back and as soon as I saw that, I started prepping the bottles but as soon as the bottle is inserted, blood flow stops.

This is with a butterfly needle btw, should I be holding the needle more still after seeing the flash to make sure it doesn't move? Any tips?
