Gigabyte RX 7600 caught fire after 25 days - Gigabyte/ Modx RMA experience so far. Has anyone gotten a replacement for a burnt card easily?
Hi everyone, I recently bought a brand-new Gigabyte RX 7600 from Modx Computers in July. Unfortunately, after just 25 days of normal gaming, an internal capacitor under the heatsink caught fire and burnt out.
I want to clarify that my entire house runs on a heavy duty whole house main line voltage stabilizer, and my PC uses a top-tier MSI 850W Gold PSU. Both the house stabilizer and the PSU are working flawlessly with zero damage, and the motherboard PCIe slot is perfectly clean. This completely isolated the short, proving that my incoming home electricity was 100% stable and the fire was strictly an internal factory component defect under the GPU heatsink (vrm).
Initially, the retailer mentioned that a warranty might be tough for a burnt card for this case. I managed to connect with official Gigabyte brand representatives here on Reddit. They were incredibly helpful and put me in touch with their regional technical service head in Delhi.
The service head confirmed that the official Gigabyte service center does not charge anything for inspections or diagnostics on these cases. Following their guidance, I have successfully dispatched the physical card to the Nehru Place service.
Has anyone else here dealt with a similar internal component fire on a brand new card under warranty in India? Did Gigabyte provide a fresh factory replacement smoothly once the card arrived? Any shared experiences would give me great peace of mind while I wait! Thanks.
