30f 35m. I messed up. I thought my friend would let me have a pet in the apartment I rent from her and I thought I could take my bf dog. He is breaking up with me because I can't.
My brain is muddied so I just need some advice. I thought I was going to be able to take my boyfriend's dog while he travels for 6 months. My friend's husband was not okay with that and I found out today. My boyfriend leaves this weekend. I admit I should have asked sooner but I honestly hadn't even considered they would say no. I messed up but I offered a solution. I offered to take his dog at his place for a month and after that I would bring his dog across country to his aunt's house. He says that's not a solution and I think he broke up with me but he won't come right out and say it. I get why he's mad but I feel like I offered a reasonable solution. I won't stay at his house because it was so bad when we lived together and we're still working on that. He is justified in being mad but is this something worth ending a 5 year relationship over.
