Hello friends!
No major Asobimon news for you this week, however I do have something a bit different.
I have always been enamored with mini games, I have probably spent more time in RE4's shooting range than the actual game proper (that's a lie, but it's probably closer than you'd think) When starting this little weekend project I wanted to take away a few things.
- Make a game fully to completion
- Keep it simple (preferably one button simple)
- Build some personality for the Asobimon
Personally I feel like we were able to do all three things. 90% of this was built last weekend and then we spent the rest of the time polishing up the sprites, music and letting a few people from discord test it out before we released it.
It was really nice working from scratch on a new project that doesn't have 2 years of mistakes baked into it. That said, it also feels nice to go back to a mature project and iterate on it. This was a nice little break from the normal development cycle and I'm happy to be able to get this in your hands.
This mini game was planned as part of a bigger set with online leaderboards and challenges. If you guys have fun with it, I'll continue to take the occasional break to make a new mini game and release them all in the set once they're done (and of course individually too)
