Would you use a private, local-first touch typing tutor absolutely free?

I’m working on a minimal touch typing tutor and trying to validate interest.

Core idea:

  • row-wise lessons
  • finger animation
  • progress analytics
  • personalized feedback on mistakes
  • everything stored locally in the browser
  • no cloud, no account, no AI

Trying to keep it simple and privacy-focused.

Curious:

  • Would this be useful to you?
  • What feature would matter most?
  • What do current typing tools get wrong?

Looking for feedback on a minimal touch typing tutor I’m building

I’m working on a touch typing tutorial and wanted to ask for honest feedback before I go further.

The idea is a very minimal typing tutor with:

  • row-by-row lessons
  • finger animation
  • analytics to show progress
  • guidance on what you’re doing wrong and how to improve

I’m also aiming for it to be:

  • local-first
  • fully private
  • no cloud
  • no AI
  • all data stored in the browser and never leaving the device

I’m trying to keep it simple, focused, and personal — basically a typing tutor that feels calm, private, and useful.

I’d love to know:

  • Would something like this be useful to you?
  • What would make you actually try it?
  • What’s missing from current typing tutorials?

If this isn’t the right place for this kind of feedback, I’m happy to adjust.
