Ro can’t help himself

This is my boy Rosa (Ro) and boy am I glad I picked a fish based on personality! Day four with him, doing so tank maintenance and Ro must be present wherever the tongs are 🤣

He’s such a funny little guy! Follows me and plays with his food (he is on the thin side because I literally got him 4 days ago and I haven’t seen him eat yet, might change to tongs since he loves them so much)

Am I ready for a Betta?

As the title states, I want to know if I am truly ready to add a betta fish to my tank?

Here are photos of the tank today and the details!

Size: 10 gal

Parameters: ammonia - 0 nitrite - 0 nitrate - 5-10

Temp: sits between 75-78 (I might get a different heater and use the current as a backup)

Inside tank:
Fluval aqua soil, all live plants, two hammocks, a feeding ring, a pothos and monstera, heater and filter with a cover on intake and flow to baffle, some aquarium rock hideouts (I ran nylon on them and they are safe!)

Started cycling April 10th and occasionally dosed with fishless cycle enzymes to 2, I also occasionally ghost fed the tank

There are hitchhiker snails from the plants! A rather large ramshorn and at least 15 growing baby snails (I am 100% aware my fish will probably eat them and am fine with that. Except maybe the large one, whom I’ve named Sheldon and rather like because he eats algae)

If there is anything else, please give feedback because I love watching Sheldon grow and want to add a fish!

As the title states, this is my first time cycling a tank, and I want to make sure I am doing this right. I got this tank 3.5 weeks ago (10 gal, heater and filter no CO2) and have it planted with entirely live plants that I received from someone near me. I have a green thumb and wanted to try my hand at aquatic plants in the hopes to make this suitable for a Betta!

The parameters are from today and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong because this feels like it’s taking awhile? I dosed with a fish less cycle ammonia on April 26th. This week I started getting long hairy algae, which I’ve slowly worked on cleaning but have to be careful BECAUSE my live plants had hitchhikers. I have tiny snails in my tank and I think that’s okay?

What I’m primarily looking for is help with how my tank looks at this point in the cycle, any tips for making sure it’s suitable for the future inhabitant(s)!

Hello! I got a tank a little over two weeks ago and am in the cycling process. All of my plants are live and from someone in my area (not a store). The other day I started to notice these little clear ovals with a little brown dot on leaves and the tanks. Are these snails??? They are so tiny and do move, I’ve watched.

PS: my plants are dirty because I have fluval stratum in the tank and added some in a few places and forgot to rinse first.
