Anyone here on beta blockers (healthwise, not doping)?

Hey!

I've been put on beta blockers for my health and my doctor mentioned it would probably make me sustain effort easier.

I wonder if people here have been on beta blockers before and can tell me if I'll need to change my HR zones or if it means that I might have a better pace for the same HR?

I know it's considered doping but I'm just a recreational triathlete so I don't think it'll be any issue.

Lf after the war fic with Alive Snape getting to be known by the Order for who he really is

Hey!

Do you know of any fic where Snape survives and builds a somewhat cordial relationship with people of the Order after everything he did in the war is revealed? I'm not a Snape fan so I'd prefer fics where Snape's wrongdoings aren't glossed over

Thank you in advance and have a good day !

Hello there! I just ran my first sprint triathlon (afab, 25yo, a bit overweight) and am quite proud of myself. I finished last but overall it was a great experience and I managed to do what I had planned on the swim and the run. The bike was way harder than anticipated because I hadn't realised my HR would be so high after the swim so I'm quite happy I managed to finish at all.

Here's the "problem" : I was under the impression that LTHR is supposed to be your HR for around 1 hour in race conditions. It feels like I ended up doing 2+ hours instead and I don't know where my calculations went wrong.

I had planned to do the swim as well as I could without pushing too much, then the ride just under LTHR and a ~38' run at LTHR or higher.

I had done previously a test for my running LTHR (30' all out then average of last 20') and didn't have time to do a test for bike so estimated (apparently it's 5-10bpm lower).

So the plan was :

- swim feeling ok, not pushing too much

- bike around 168 max (estimating a LTHR of 174bpm)

- run starting at 180 then pushing if I feel like it (running LTHR at 181bpm)

What actually happened :

- Swim (26''): felt okay during but a bit light headed when going out of the water, I reached my max HR during T1 (203bpm)

- Bike (1'12'') : started with a 195HR and immediately knew that I had to go way slower than I had planned so I did the first 35'' slow and managed to go down to 175 then the next 37'' I averaged 183bpm (so basically did the whole ride at an HR higher than my estimated cycling LTHR)

- Run (40'') : average of 186, did the first 4k between 182 and 185, then 700m at 185-190 then last 300m between 190-202

In the end it feels like I did 2h25 at an HR I had planned to not be able to sustain more than an hour. Do you see something that's wrong in my calculations? Do you find it useful to pace with HR?

I know I didn't have a clear cycling HR but it should be lower than my running one right? So even if it was a bit higher, it still feels like something in my calculations went "wrong".

At least I know from this race that I can push myself more than I thought I could but I'd like to be able to understand how it works to be able to plan my next races.

If you've read all of this so far, thank you so much for reading and I'll read any comment and will be grateful for any advice

Thank you in advance

I'm looking to see if this idea has already been done. Basically, all of the horcruxes would have been destroyed except the one in Harry. Then Voldemort's body is killed/destroyed. What happens next?

Can you recommend fics with this plot?
