Looking for a part-time/paid fieldwork opportunity in Delhi (₹10k/month)

Hey everyone,

I'm a third-year law student in Delhi and I'm looking for a part-time job or paid gig for the next 6 months. I need to earn around ₹10,000/month to cover my expenses.

I genuinely enjoy community and field work. I've previously worked with NGOs where I've:

  • Conducted field surveys and interviews
  • Collected and documented data
  • Interacted with communities
  • Helped with research and outreach

I'm open to research, surveys, community outreach, field investigations, or similar roles. Flexible with timings as long as I can manage them alongside college.

Does anyone know of any organisations, NGOs, research projects, or paid opportunities in Delhi that might be hiring?

Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS: I am genuinely in need of money.

Non-NLU + first gen lawyer. How do people actually get Tier 1 internships?

Hey everyone!

I'm a 3rd-year law student from a government law college (non-NLU; disappointing placement cell) and I'm also going to be a first-generation lawyer. I recently interned at a Tier 2 law firm and now I'm trying to figure out how to break into Tier 1 (or even better Tier 2) firms for my next internships.

The thing is, everyone around me keeps saying that most of these internships happen through referrals or family connections, and that firms barely even look at cold emails or applications. As someone with no legal background or connections, it's honestly a bit discouraging.

  • So I wanted to ask people who've actually done it:
  • Did you get in through a cold email or did networking/referrals make the difference?
  • Do firms actually read applications from random students?
  • If you were in my shoes, what would you focus on right now to maximize your chances?
  • Lastly, how to actually back internships/ PPO/ Connections/ Mentorships.

Would love to hear from the reddit community. Just trying to understand what's realistic and what isn't.

Thanks!
