Should I give up on pursuing law ? I keep hearing that you can’t do much in corporate law if you’re not from an NLU or a top private college and I’m not getting into any of those colleges

I’m already a dropper

Help

Hello ! I'm 18 , passed 12th in 2025 with 85% in humanities. Took a drop for Common law entrance test (CLAT) but couldn't land a nlu . I'm aware this puts me in a bad position, the college im getting is not good but not bad either , that is why I looked into the company secretary program and applied there .

I have heard from many people that it's a good combo and if you want to enter corporate law , firms WANT the nlu tag so thought llb with cs would put me at an advantage . Have I taken the right decision? I don't want to practice as a cs , just as a corporate lawyer . Pls advice! Any kind of advice would mean a lot to me ! Thank you for reading till here !! <3

Can a CA do 3 years LLB?

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of ICAI. I do not possess a separate UG Degree (like B.Com/B.A./B.Sc). Since UGC has recognised CA qualification as equivalent to a Post Graduate degree, am I eligible for admission to the 3-year LL.B. course and later enrollment as an advocate after completing the regular LL.B.?

CS and LAW CONFUSION

So I just finished my 1st year of BBA LLB in a law college. The academics are honestly whatever and the uni itself doesn't have any reputation or merit. Profs are literally in their 20s, just graduated and became a prof kinda thing. I know I'll have to focus on external moots, debates and research paper publications but I'm kinda lost.
I know I don't want to go into civil or criminal and litigation, so I was thinking I'll get into Cyberlaw/IP Law or Corporate. I heard CS is very useful for corporate legal jobs but my profs were talking about how you can only hold one degree at a time (?) so if I become CS then I can't practice law, etc etc and I'm so confused as to how that works? I know this is a dumb question but for the love of god I cannot find any clarifications on how CS and Law works + what even is Corporate. Somebody please help me understand and lmk if doing CS is a good idea.

Got Trilegal Mumbai Gen Corp internship. Terrified of getting virtual. Should I ask HR for hybrid upfront or wait for the pre-onboarding email?

Hey everyone!

I recently got an internship offer from Trilegal Mumbai for the General Corporate Team. Really excited but also a little stressed about one thing.

The confirmation email says the mode (hybrid or virtual) will only be confirmed closer to the start date via a pre-onboarding email. I really want hybrid because I feel like being physically present is the only way to actually build relationships with associates and partners, which I’m assuming matters a lot for callbacks.

So my dilemma is: do I reach out to HR now to express my preference, or do I wait for the pre-onboarding email?

If I reach out now, the upside is I get to flag my preference early and it might actually make a difference. The downside is I risk coming across as demanding or difficult before I have even started.

Also genuinely curious whether the Gen Corp team at Trilegal Mumbai actually comes into office regularly. And for people who have done virtual there, did it actually affect your callback chances or is it purely about the quality of work?

Any advice would be really appreciated. TIA!

I got into my dream law school with a 158 LSAT and 3.6 GPA. Happy to share what I think made the difference.

I know those numbers are below median for a lot of schools so I want to share what I genuinely believe got me in because I see a lot of posts here from people stressing about stats and I think there is an important piece of the conversation missing.
My personal statement was the thing I spent the most time on by far. Not because I read that online somewhere but because an admissions advisor told me directly that for candidates with similar numbers, storytelling is what they remember. Not the GPA. Not the LSAT score. The story.
A few things that I think made mine work.
I opened with a specific moment instead of a general statement about myself. Admissions officers read hundreds of statements that start with I have always wanted to be a lawyer. Starting with a real scene from your life makes them stop and actually read.
I made sure every experience I mentioned connected back to why law specifically. Not just I care about justice but here is the exact moment I understood what law could actually do for someone.
I ended by circling back to how I started so the whole thing felt like one complete story rather than a list of accomplishments.
Happy to answer any questions about the process. Currently a rising 1L so everything is still very fresh.

Please help, what should I do now ???

I’m completely lost and I’m just stuck in between things

After 10th I took PCM for JEE and got 85 percentile. I thought I would take a drop and try again but I got only 72% in boards and even after the improvement exam (held in July) it only went up to 73% so my father didn’t allow a drop, he always wanted me to do CLAT so I went along with it as I was already disappointed and disheartened

But yesss i messed that up too and got the shittiest rank possible , around 18k

Now I’m stuck, I gave NLAT but don’t know if I’ll get anything

And now I’m being told to choose between engineering and law by my father like how now ???? I can’t get a good engineering college without JEE and I’ve already forgotten most of PCM. Law feels like a better option now but I’m not getting any decent colleges there either

It just feels like I’ve messed up everything. The family atmosphere is always tense. I haven’t talked to him about normal things for the last 5-6 months and now I’m left with no clear direction

Harassed and threatened by neighbor for objecting to pigeon feeding on rooftop. Landlord is unresponsive. Need legal advice.

I live in a rented flat in West Bengal . For the last 1.5–2 years, my top-floor neighbor has been a constant source of distress.

She feeds pigeons daily on the common rooftop where all residents dry their clothes (jahan sab kapde sukhate hain). The pigeons have made the entire area filthy with droppings, ruining our clothes and creating a major health hazard.

Every time we politely request her to stop or move the feeding to a non-utility area, she becomes a menace. She starts shouting at the top of her voice, using abuses and threats. I informed my landlord, but he has been useless and refuses to intervene.

Yesterday, it turned scary. After we complained again, she came down and repeatedly banged on my door, shouting. Her husband joined her and began issuing serious threats. He said :-

• "You won't be able to walk around here anymore."

• "I won't allow your clothes to dry on the rooftop at all now."

• He even threatened my son, saying - "Your child won't be able to study. All his studies will be blocked now."

My Questions:

1) Bird Feeding: Is pigeon feeding legal if it creates a documented health nuisance and destroys property (clothes) in a shared residential space?

2) Criminal Intimidation: Do their threats specifically "you won't be able to walk here" and threatening my child's future/studies , amount to an offence under the BNS (formerly IPC) ?

I am worried about my family’s safety. Any advice on how to handle this legally would be greatly appreciated .

Guidance on career

Hello I'm a law student from private college. After doing several internships in law firms, I've realized that litigation is not for me. I would rather work with contracts and compliance. But even my cv looks more aligned for litigation. Can you please give me some advice on what recruiters usually look for, how I can shift to in house counsel and what skills and specialization are usually preferred. Or should I do LLM in corporate law?

Thankyou in advance

MH CET Law 5-Yr Dilemma: Is taking a loan for GLC/ILS worth the risk for a lower-middle-class student, or should I opt for a local college?"

Hello everyone,

I am from Miraj (Sangli district), Maharashtra. I recently appeared for the **MH CET Law 5-Year LLB 2026 exam** and am looking for some honest guidance regarding college selections and financial planning.

I come from a lower-middle-class financial background, but I am deeply passionate about pursuing law. I am currently caught in a tough dilemma:

  1. If I get a high score: Is taking an education loan to study at top-tier colleges like ILS Pune or GLC Mumbai worth the financial risk? Will the placement opportunities and corporate/litigation exposure justify the loan burden for a student from a modest background?

2.If my score is average: Should I opt for local options like N.S. Soti Law College in Sangli, or will that severely limit my exposure and long-term career growth?

I can take the risk of a loan, but if I invest it in a college that won't benefit me, it will become a massive burden on my family. Conversely, staying local might shatter my long-cherished career dreams.

Any advice on college tier-lists, Return on Investment (ROI), local college realities, or scholarship/concession schemes under MH CET would be immensely helpful.

Thank you for your time!
