should I break up or have a serious talk?

I've been seeing someone for a few months now. About 8 months ago, when we started dating, he mentioned that he needed to start working on getting a license he needs for work (P.Eng). His boss had also been mentioning that he needs to get it. Since then, he has not spent one minute working towards actually getting the license. His excuse is that he doesn't have any time obvioulsy isn't true. On top of all this, he has lied to his boss that he is working on it.

I'm someone who is motivated and goal-oriented and his lack of action is bothering me. His lifestyle generally seems lazy to me and he's always complaining about work and he's always tired! Aside from this, I haven't had any issues with him so far.

I'm completely stuck as to what to do? Should I mention that I don't like his unserious attitude about his life, since it will also impact me if we end up becoming serious? Should I break up before I get more invested into the relationship? Am I in the wrong here?

How do deal with low energy and foggy brain during PMS

Ladies of the group,

How do you study during PMS when you feel tired as hell, and you're brain dead? I make stupid calculation mistakes on exams just because my brain is so slow and dead 😢 I would appreciate any suggestions

Hi everyone,

My mom is turning 65 this year, and I would like to book her a nice international tour. This will be her first solo international trip, and since she is a senior, I would like to ensure the tour is of high quality so she does not face any issues.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any reliable tour companies in Metro Vancouver? TIA

Someone before me wrote why doesn’t the government help us and then many of the comments were saying how it’s not the government’s responsibility to help us or that they should leave!!

It is literally the purpose of the government to improve our lives! That is why a government exists! To pass policies that improve the state of the economy and make our lives better in general.

It’s a simple Google search! Canada has the second lowest per person GDP in the G7 countries. We are behind Italy and the only country doing worse than us is Japan.

Toronto and Vancouver are amongst the least affordable cities in the developed world.

Youth unemployment has skyrocketed. We lost 95,000 jobs in the first three months of 2026.

China just made it illegal for companies to replace their employees with AI. So I guess, governments can help their people and are SUPPOSED to do so. Otherwise, why on earth are we paying so much taxes.

It’s time for people to stand up and ask the people in charge to do better. Vote wiser and when people are impacted by all these events, instead of telling them to leave, get angry at politicians whose sole purpose is to improve the country instead of lying that “affordability’s the best it’s been in over a decade”!!!

Edit: forgot to mention, as someone who has travelled to many of the developed countries, it’s crazy how their standard of living is much better than ours. Most of us don’t get to actually see what’s happening to us!

Hi all,

I’m in my first year of engineering school and I’m mostly interested in Mechanical E. I have heard that the job market has been bad for the last few years for mechanical engineers and some people tell me to switch to EE or do Civil.

How true is this? TIA

Hi everyone.

My question is basically what the title is! Sometimes I need to study later than 9 and my brain is absolutely dead. I can’t solve any problems, don’t understand much when I study and I get headaches.

Any tips for those nights you have to stay up later and study longer? TIA

Hi all,

I’m starting my first year at Douglas and hoping to transfer to UBCO or UVIC after. I’m mostly interested in EE and then mechanical engineering. I know the averages to get into these is pretty high so I’m trying to figure out if I should go for UVIC or UBCO EE.

Does anyone here know much about either of these programs and these campuses? I would appreciate your input.

Thanks
