he found apartment for 2k and wanted me to pay 1300 while he will contribute only 700 per moth. he earns yearly 20% more than me but he also got more pesonal costs like loans for expensive watches or apartment (i also had loan for apartment which I manage to pay off earlier) so at the end of the month they got only 1300 left. right now he lived with his mother so he pay nothing and I live on my own and pay 1200. at beggining I agreed but than I asked if he would be okay with paying 800 while I would pay 1200 and he said definitely NO and didnt provide any deadline to this inequality. he said that anyway the money left for him would be spend on „us”. what’s more he said that he pays for our dates and that he have a car and I don’t which we both use (I don’t have driving license). next day I changed my mind and told him I would feel more comfy with 50/50 for rent and find something smaller but if he feels it’s unequal because he pays for dates and got car than I can cover grocery shopping (which would cost significantly more than he pays for dates). what do u think? should I pay 65% and he 35%? somehow I feel regret to not agree on paying more while earning less because he said that anyway it’s a little more than I pay now (which is true) and broke up with me as we are too different and he do not see future with someone with such apprach. on the other hand shouldn’t we agree on something equal - it feels like he wanted to keep high level of life at my cost.
