Tourist family from Pakistan
Hello beautiful people!
I intend to visit Sri Lanka (specifically, Trincomalee) with my family (wife + 2 teenagers) in the middle of June. I will be landing in Colombo, and then proceed to Trincomalee by road. A few questions:
Is it possible to hire a van for this journey from the airport? Or would you recommend having one booked in advance through booking.com or some such?
If we hail a van from the airport, what would be the expected cost?
While I am currently fixated on the beach experience, is there any place that I should stop by while on our way to Trincomalee? I've heard that the elephant safari at Sigiriya is to die for!
If I do '3' above, should I hire a vehicle from Colombo to Sigiriya, let the driver go, spend the day there, and then hire another one for Trincomalee? Or will it be cost effective if I keep the original one engaged for the entire 6-day stay?
