A little reminder
I'm sure most people know this but lately I have seen so many advices here that were wrong or at least quite inaccurate or misleading, and I thought it may be good to remind everyone that:
It's great to ask for other opinions and discuss but if you have genuine concerns always talk to your doctor / midwife first
Everyone has a different risk tolerance, every body is different, everyone has different medical history
People live in different countries with different standards of healthcare, food quality etc Most people here seem to be from US. Good example is whooping cough vaccine, US and some European countries have different approach on this. Keep in mind where are you based before following any advice.
Sushi is a big topic here. Do your research and if you're okay with the risks go for it. Narrative is that reputable restaurants are okay but not many people know how to find one (the point is to check how they process, transport, and store the fish, not if it's Michelin star or owned by famous person!)
Survivor bias - "I was fine eating sushi. I was fine sleeping on back all my pregnancy. I was fine doing not recommend stuff." Keep in mind there are also people who were "not fine" and the guidelines usually have a reason. Do the research Why are they a risk.
Lastly, keep in mind that you never know who is the person giving you advice. It's anonymous place, they may not be pregnant, the may not be a woman, they may even come here with intention to harm.
So share your opinions and experiences, but always do extra research, check with real qualified person before making any decisions that could negatively impact your baby.
I am not writing this to start an argument on what's right or wrong, but reading some of the comments lately had me worried about all the anxious moms who are doing their best to make the right decision and some people just mislead them.
