So I heard that days gone II would probably be in the works, and my theory is that if it ever does, it'll be a continuation of that so-called secret ending. I think it'll give us a random really long story again (I enjoyed the story unlike the others who played the game). maybe it won't be a drifter anymore, so no motorcycles.. though I did hear rumors that the company has no interest in making story games, they just did this out of the blue, they weren't even intending to make days gone into a story based game. the game was supposed to be like a DayZ/Rust type or something like one of the state of decay games.

And there's also a rumor I've heard that that's how they're gonna make days gone 2. I don't know if I'd like it to be that; but if ever, I'd play it with an open mind.
