The shirtless Deacon skin I was treated too.

PS5; When picking the shirtless Deacon skin on horde assault I was surprised to see a white shirt and no pants, is this normal for it to switch up like this? Lmao I want expecting a white button up much less no pants.

Drug stash - Tucker or Copeland

What do you think is the right decision if you disregard the rewards you get from either one of them and only focus on the moral choice and what you think Deacon would do?

Geez, you try and take one nice photo of a sunset…then BAM!

What’s crazy is if you zoom in, you can actually see the mountain lion in the very bottom left of the first image. Fucker didn’t make a sound til .2 seconds before I caught him with the autoshotty 😬📸

Petty gripe: This game doesn't understand how radios work.

I'm fairly late in my first playthrough (Deek and >!Sarah just returned to the Cloverdale facility!<) and it finally annoyed me enough to post when he radioed >!Lost Lake Camp and Boozer!<. Every time Deacon talks in to the radio he holds the button down to talk, and yet he's still being constantly interrupted as he talks. Radios don't work like that. When you hold the button, the person on the other end is silenced until your transmission is complete, it's not like a phone where everyone has an open mic to talk over each other. I know it's petty but I'm a security guard, I work with radios all day, and it would be annoying as hell if my colleagues could cut me off when I'm sending information.

Days Gone Remastered | Reset Jobs

I played Days Gone for the first time last year. I finished the game in Feb 2025, and the remastered version of the title was released in April 2025. I enjoyed it and the horde assault. I even posted about the achievements here. I was happy with the way community members appreciated my amateur gameplay and encouraged me to do better.

All this time, I kept wishing for a feature that allowed us gamers and fans of the game to fight the hordes again without going through the game again. Little did I know that the feature was already available. I just noticed it. I am referring to Reset Jobs.

The moment I learnt about it, I have been looking forward to fighting the hordes again. Well, today was the day. This is my first horde fight after almost a year. This is definitely terrible gameplay. There's no denying that. Well, a few more gameplays and I might do better. 😝

My aim is entertainment not pro gameplay!

Glitch fix

I've finished main story and am gathering collectibles. I've been to historical marker 27 and it won't show on collectibles found. Only one I need to 100% them. Tried everything I could think of, anyone else have this issue and how can it be resolved

Could someone explain the Hooligan virus?

I have played 100% the game and I know there are videos explaining it, but people on Reddit always have the best explanations.

I'm straight up not having a good time (sometimes)

First playthrough btw. I'm just keeping it real.

My personal best experience with mods I want to advice

BEST FOR SURVIVAL 2 PERMADEATH PLAYTHROUGH. (REMASTERED VERSION, HAVEN'T TRIED ON VANILLA) MY GOAL WAS TO ACHIEVE SOME SORT OF SURVIVAL II+ WITH CONSTANT TENSION AND SOME REBALANCING. I'VE HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE REVISITING THIS GAME WITH THESE MODS:

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/730 - Bigger scarier hordes. Feels more realistic

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/458 - Item, consumables tweaks, very very rare loot respawn, everything is more expensive

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/120 - Deal 1.5x more damage, receive 1.5x more damage (again feels more realistic, everything dies faster but you also can be one shot by a freak before you inject NERO health shit)

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/370 - x5 melee durability (when combined with 1.5x damage received and 1.5x damage dealt mod, it offers you to use melee more often, while also adds a greater risk of dying, I think it adds even more spice to gameplay)

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/127 - Double ears from freaks so farming them is actually kind of useful (works great with bigger hordes mod and item tweaks mod since everything is more expensive, decent balance)

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/179 - Instant car opening

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/204 - Better flashlight

https://www.nexusmods.com/daysgone/mods/189 - Almost unbreakable sidearm modern suppressor (I allow myself this mod and x5 melee durability mod since everything else is harder)

I hope someone is going to play with these mods (permadeath survival 2 recommended) and enjoy it as much as I do. Also if anyone can recommend more mods to enhance the experience even more without breaking immersion, please do

Why Days Gone's Pacific Northwest setting is so intriguing

Days Gone's Pacific Northwest setting is easily one of its standout elements. Bend Studio could've easily gone the route of making the post-apocalyptic open world dark and grim. Instead, it's lush and vibrant. Of course, it's beautiful, but it's beauty also lies in its unpredictable nature. There's a few reasons why that's the case.

Diversity in its biomes- Just because the game takes place in the Pacific Northwest, doesn't mean that it's just miles of pine trees. There's diversity when it comes to its geography. There are various environments, ranging from the dense, mossy canopies of the Cascade Lakes and Belknap Crater, to the arid desert landscapes of Eastern Oregon (Farewell Wilderness).

Dynamic, yet unforgiving world- Heavy downpours affect your bike's handling. It becomes very treacherous when you're trying to navigate through a muddy hillside while escaping a group of Freakers. Rain can mask the sound of Deacon's footsteps. However, day time means that Freakers are stronger and more active during the day.

Snow actually accumulates on the ground and on trees as well. It also impacts the bike's traction. The significant drop in temperature also brings out the more dangerous variant of the Freakers who are accustomed to the extreme cold weather.

Days Gone's Northwest setting is the perfect playground for driving around in a motorcycle. The rough terrain is essentially an obstacle course. Mountain passes, broken-down logging roads, and steep cliffs effectively turn Deacon's bike into a survival tool instead of just being a means of travel. Of course, it's crucial that you upgrade its fuel tank, tires, etc.

The types of industries that you would find in the Pacific Northwest also exist in the game's world as well. There are logging camps. lumber mills, remote ranger stations, and hydro-electric dams. There's a great sense of authenticity in Days Gone's world. Lumber mills in particular are perfect for when you want to deal with a massive group of Freakers. They're designed to let you funnel, trap, and eliminate them while you use the environment to your advantage.

Days Gone's wilderness is beautiful, but it's also dangerous and brutal as well. There's a certain type of vibe that it perfectly captures. It's not just a world where humanity has been wiped out. It's a Pacific Northwest setting where nature has reclaimed its territory.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

How far into the game does it start actually getting good? I've heard about Iron Mike's camp...

Been playing for a good while. Haven't really enjoyed myself that much, but I've kept going because everyone says "it gets much better" later on and that I'd "regret dropping it".

For the longest time I felt like I was just doing errands for the camps. Ride here, collect something, rescue someone, deliver something else. I kept waiting for the game to finally open up, because everyone insisted it eventually would.

Then I reached the Carlos storyline and, for the first time, I was completely hooked.

The infiltration with Skizzo, his betrayal, finding out Carlos' past with the Mongrels, racing back to Iron Mike's camp while the Rippers attacked, defending Boozer as he planted explosives on the dam, flooding the Rippers' camp. It finally felt like the game had found its identity. There was a clear objective, personal stakes, and some genuinely memorable set pieces in the missions.

Then Carlos drugs you before the final confrontation.

At that point I thought: "Finally. This is where the game really begins. He'll be the bad guy you'll have to track down and eventually finally kill"

I expected an actual melee boss fight, followed by Carlos escaping. I thought the next few hours would be me and Boozer tracking him across the open world, following clues, hunting him down, without constantly going back to camps for another shopping list of chores.

Instead, I pressed R2 about five times.

Carlos died.

That's it.

After all that buildup, the entire storyline was over almost immediately. Iron Mike tells you he let Skizzo escape, the questline instantly jumps to 100% after what feelt like less than 60 minutes, and the next mission is basically "go collect scrap because the Freakers damaged something."

I genuinely didn't know what to think. I was stunned.

My biggest issue with Days Gone is that whenever something genuinely interesting does happen, it's over almost immediately, and then the game throws you back into hours of errands for the camps.

Go here. Pick up this. Deliver that. Rescue this person. Repeat.

I also don't really feel any sense of progression. The map barely changes, the gameplay barely evolves, and I never struggled with resources. I basically swim in credits, have good weapons, reputation unlocks naturally, and there was never much reason to engage with the survival systems.

Ironically, some of the optional content was among my favorite parts. Clearing camps, finding bunkers and burning Freaker nests was genuinely fun. I burned through all of them in a couple of hours though.

The NERO missions with O'Brian were also intriguing, but they just stopped? for a huge chunk of the game.

I love zombies. I love post-apocalyptic settings. I really want to love this game.

But after hours, it mostly feels like a very standard Ubisoft-style open world that occasionally remembers it has an interesting story to tell, only to drop it almost as soon as it gets good.

So I have a phobia of zombies. For some it's clowns, for others heights...you get it. Let me tell you, I can't play zombie games. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, forget about it. The sheer terror and soul bending dread these games induce in me is off the charts. Forget it. For context I'm 55...

and have worked as a professional AAA game designer for 30 year. Because of this subredit I had to play this game. My dudes, its fire. I'm scared shitless most of the time (I can't even go out in the night) but I'm so hooked and committed. I feel so lucky to be so frightened on the level that I am because its just so visceral and the relief after most missions is wildly satisfying. I don't think I've ever been much more engaged with a game and I've been playing games since my Dad brought home Pong. Anyway, that's my story. Thank you everyone in this subredit for all the postive posts about the game. I get it now. Damn.

Favourite bits of world-building?

Are there any in-game things you’ve randomly come across which tell a story of their own and if so, what have been your highlights? E.g. yesterday I was looking for flowers, herbs etc and came across a little makeshift grave and memorial in the middle of nowhere with ‘YOU WERE WARNED’ written in blood on the rock above it and it just made me wonder what the hell happened to whoever is buried there? Have you guys come across anything like this? I’d love to hear your stories and headcanons
