I recently found out that one of the largest private companies in the Maldives is registering trade names using their influence at the Ministry of Economic Development that includes a name I’ve already had registered for quite some time for a SaaS project.

Although they’ve added other words around it, registering multiple trade names around it suggests that they’re planning to takeover the brand.

What’s crazy is that us ordinary people can’t even register a business name remotely similar to another registered name. really shows how much influence some people have behind the scenes.

At this point, I’m trying to understand what my next course of action should be. I’d really appreciate any advice.
