I am currently in a bizarre limbo with Meta. I’m not fully locked out, but I’m effectively paralyzed. I accidentally deleted my own admin user profile from my Business Manager—the one that linked my personal Facebook to the Business Page.
The current state: I still have access to the Business Portfolio because my Instagram account was a user, so the portfolio isn't gone. However, I have zero access to the Meta Ads account or the Facebook Page themselves.
- The Mistake: I accidentally deleted my own admin user profile from my Business Manager. This account held the connection to both the personal FB and the Business Page.
- The "Partial" Save: I still have access to the portfolio because my Instagram account was still a user.
- The Email Hurdle: To re-add myself as an admin, I had to verify via Instagram. The verification was going to an old, expired
.orgdomain I no longer own. I managed to find a workaround by changing the Instagram email, which finally let me receive the verification code.
The 2FA glitch
Once I verified the email, I tried to reassign assets to myself. Meta keeps stopping me, saying I need to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- The catch: I already have 2FA enabled.
- The loop: It prompts me for the 2FA code -> I enter it successfully -> It gives me an error saying I need to enable 2FA to continue. It is a literal dead end.
Meta Verified Support is BROKEN AND IT SUCKS!
I got so desperate that I paid for Meta Verified because apparently that's the only way to talk with a human or to even get a hold of a support ticket... It made things WORSE:
- AI Chat: The initial "support" bot literally sent me snippets of code instead of actual words or instructions (this was before using the Meta Verify Support System, with the actual regular surface-level ai support that they have available for everyone)
- The Chat Glitch: When I finally opened a ticket to chat with a person, the interface broke. After the AI/Bot answers once, my reply gets stuck on "Sending..." indefinitely.
- Auto-Closure: Because my message never "technically" sends, the system thinks I’m inactive. After a few minutes, the ticket is marked as "Completed" with zero resolution.
I am paying for a subscription for "enhanced support" that literally won't let me send a message.
Has anyone dealt with the "Sending" glitch in the Verified Support chat, or found a way to bypass the 2FA loop when the system doesn't recognize your 2FA is already on?
Any advice before I lose my mind is appreciated.
