I feel powerless knowing that if I become ill suddenly, no one can save me. If there's no god, why do I watch my loved ones face the possibility of dying unexpectedly, without understanding how or why? The human race is so limited that we can't even delay death for those with serious illnesses like cancer. This limits our ability to confront mortality. It seems that people create the idea of a god to cope with this limitation, but it troubles me. What can I do about it?
