Hey, I'm Looking for an obscure Asian movie (probably 80s/90s, seen dubbed in German).

It’s about a male robot (very low-budget, boxy “tin can” costume, stiff movements) who falls in love with a woman (maybe a princess I don’t remember exactly).

I remember a weird scene where he’s running with lightning effects behind him, but it looks super awkward and cheap.

Main plot: the robot wants to become human because of love, and at the end he turns into a human and they’re lying together in a bed.

The movie felt serious but was very cheesy/trashy.

Any ideas?
