Straddling the great divide between fame and home
I love how TGD is thematically cohesive in the sense that all tracks come back to this divide that fame created between Noah and his home. I realized today that NK uses the symbolism of the county line or state line as a representation of this divide. The last track “Dan” circles us back to Stick Season and “The View Between Villages” to show how the narrator (NK presumably) is still straddling that line, but hopefully more comfortably. “I'm with my best friend Dan now
Camping on the county line”
“Camping” likes he’s just accepted that this is where he lives now, straddling this line because you can’t go home again in the same way that you did as a child, but you can accept home for what it is now that you’ve changed.
