Fourth of july Merch

Did anyone else have an easier day than expected for the 4th of July?

I'm a Pepsi merchandiser, and after seeing a bunch of posts on TikTok and Reddit, I was mentally preparing for an absolutely brutal day. Everyone was saying to get ready because it was going to be super heavy.

To my surprise, I only ended up working about 9 hours. Don't get me wrong—it was still busy, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

Did anyone else have a lighter-than-expected day, or did your route end up being as crazy as everyone was saying?

Question for Pepsi merchandisers:

If you had the choice between a 4-day route and a 5-day route, which would you pick and why?

We're going to have new routes available for bidding soon, and some of them have different schedules. I'm curious what most merchandisers prefer.

Would you rather work four longer days and have an extra day off, or five shorter days? Does workload, work-life balance, overtime, or store volume affect your decision?

For those of you who have worked both schedules, which one did you like better and why?

Pepsi merchandisers, how long does it usually take you to work a store?

I'm still fairly new and trying to get a better idea of what's considered normal. I am about to complete 4 months as a merch with pepsi. Do you guys work every single item in the store every visit, or do you focus mainly on the delivery, holes, displays, and high-priority items?

Also, let's say you walk into a store with a 9-pallet delivery but the route only has a U-boat available. Roughly how long would that take you to work?

In situations like that, do you normally work all 9 pallets the same day, or is it common to leave some backstock or a few pallets for the next day if time doesn't allow?

I'm curious to hear how different merchandisers handle large deliveries, especially in busy stores with limited equipment.

Do any Pepsi merchandisers bring their own equipment to work?

Hey everyone,

I'm a Pepsi merchandiser and was curious if any of you bring your own equipment to your routes.

Lately I've been covering routes that don't always have equipment available, and I'm considering buying my own hand truck/dolly to make moving product easier and help me get through the day faster.

For those of you who use your own equipment:

- What type of hand truck or dolly do you use?

- Was it worth the investment?

- Does your location allow personal equipment?

- Any downsides I should consider before buying one?

I'm not required to buy one, but I'm thinking it might save time and make those heavy delivery days a little easier.

Thanks!
