I shipped an item to a buyer - a sealed box of trading cards. He alleges that the seal has a few holes in it and wants a partial refund. I responded that I don't do partial refunds and that he can open a return and he can send it back at my cost for a full refund. He never opened a return, then left negative feedback. It's a 10 year old account. I haven't sold much the last six months but I'm doing some house cleaning and now will be. His negative feedback drops me to 94%. I requested the negative feedback be removed and it was denied within a half hour.
Is that really it? He tries to strong arm me into a partial refund, he won't open a return to send it back, and now it's just negative feedback? I called Ebay, they initially hung up the phone or said the system would only allow email to discuss the negative feedback. I called back and said I wanted to talk about selling fees, then I got an agent. She said there was nothing she could do and after I screamed like Al Pacino, she said it would get escalated to another team and I would get a decision within 72 hours. I'm 99.999999% sure they won't remove it. I reported him for the partial refund trick but that won't help get rid of my negative feedback.
