Love For Tommy's on Girard

Is everyone completely sick of pizza posts yet?! (Don't answer that...)

So, I've lived in the neighborhood for 2 years and just now got around to trying Tommy's. I didn't expect to be blown away, but I was pretty pleased with being able to get a totally decent slice for three bucks in a world of Shackamaxons and Marina'ses and Ligurias.

It might seem like an inconsequential thing, but I also liked that they didn't try to send me away with a branded box for ONE SLICE like some of the newer places do. I got a slice on a paper plate with one napkin and they sent me on my merry way. Reminded me of simpler times.

Ricci's on Girard is weak

Decided to try Ricci's today. Got a large roast beef and provolone with lettuce, tomato, mayo and a regular turkey and Cooper with the same. Came out to $28 and had maybe 4-5 slices of meat on the rolls. Complete ripoff.

No idea how they compete with Marinucci's or Primo with higher prices, smaller portions, and nothing to differentiate them from a basic deli.
