These are the captivating rock paintings from Tassili n'Ajjer, a national park in the Sahara desert, in southern Algeria. Believed to originate between 7000 to 9000 years ago, during the Neolithic period, they offer a window into the lives of early Saharan communities.

The figures, rendered in ochre hues, dance across the sandstone canvas. Some are adorned with elaborate headdresses or skirts, hinting at ritual or ceremonial significance. The desert winds have gently eroded the rock face, blurring the edges of the figures, yet their presence remains vivid. The ancient artists captured a moment of life in the heart of the Sahara, a testament to human creativity and resilience. Their work whispers of stories untold, of a time when the desert teemed with life, and the human spirit soared against the backdrop of endless sands.

My husband got fired from his job of 15 years over concerns he wasn't following procedure. He was never given an performance improvement plan...she just wrote him up and didn't offer to help so he got fired. He's been out of work for three months and we thought today was the day. He tells me he did an interview and it sounded like it went well. He did say why he was fired but he got a start date and said they were very interested in him being there. A few hours later he gets an email saying they dropped the offer and won't be taking him.

We are frustrated. I have been fired for something like this but I was never given a job offer and then had it snatched away. Not to mention he has been filling out applications, going to interviews and doing what he's supposed to be doing only to have radio silence, dropped job offers and no answers.

I get he's not perfect but why would you do that? Why give a start date and then take it away? Did she call his ex boss? I know she can only say he worked there. I think he might have told the entire story on why he was fired when he should have said a sentence or two and I know telling too much can be bad as well. We aren't sure how to get it so it's saying enough but not too much.

He has learned his lesson and wants to move on. But we're just frustrated he got a start date and rejection notice within hours. Who does that?
