This fandom is quite unhinged to say the least. Joostwt is batshit bonkers by oversexualising Joost on one hand and being extremely critical over basically everything on the other hand. From extensively talking about f***ing him in the a** and getting him “pregnant” to boycotting Zonder Jou by turning their backs to the stage because it’s featuring Anouk and analysing/stalking his every move.
For me it has never been about the looks, and at first maybe not even about the music. I initially became a fan due to the glimmers of his great personality shining through in the little off guard moments. In a world where it feels like I’m the only one with a soft heart, it felt like finding a kindred spirit. And then discovering his vast oeuvre of all kinds of amazing music, with often a genius play on words that speaks to me as a fellow Dutch speaking language lover.
I really hope this fandom doesn’t ruin him.
