Please help! Root canal advice

So I had a pretty deep filling done about four weeks ago, close to the nerve but the dentist was confident she got all the decay. I had sensitivity to cold at first and then at 4 weeks after a weekend of cold drinks and grinding my teeth at night it got worse. The pain kept me up and turned into throbbing until a day in I had to leave work. I went back to the dentist she said she couldn’t see anything wrong and referred me to an endo.

He tested the tooth said there was no infection it was still alive but I may have irreversible pulpits. he did adjust my bite and said it was a little high and to give it 5 days to see if the pain got better. it actually did get better and I went a night without pain meds only to wake up today and have it flair up again. I don’t know what to do. do I continue to wait, get a second opinion, or just have the root canal?

on top of all this the endo said my roots are curved and the canals are small so he may not be able to finish in one sitting!! I don’t know if I can handle that, should I try someone else? please help!
