Is it stupid to move schools?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in a bit of a dilemma. I took a leave of absence from nursing school due to a medical issue and was planning to return this summer. Unfortunately, I’ve been placed on a waitlist due to limited spots and now have to wait until September.
I’m considering transferring to a different nursing school and starting over. So far, I’ve completed 2 out of 9 terms.
Here are my reasons for wanting to switch:

  1. It offers more breaks between terms, and the program is more fast-paced, which I prefer since it allows time to rest and reset between terms
  2. Specialty courses are included in the BSN program, so I wouldn’t need additional certifications to work in areas like the ER or ICU after graduation

However, switching would also mean:

  1. Restarting the program from the beginning
  2. Waiting until next January to begin

Given all of this, would it be a bad idea to move to a different nursing school at this point🥺

I’m interested in MLS program but not sure if I my grades are competitive :/

•my high school grades are between mid to high 80s

•Took 2 biology courses at a post secondary and ended up with A and A-
+took 1 pathophysiology course with B+

•Took 1 english course at post-secondary and ended up with A-
