vets have already ruled out health problems.
she’s almost two years old and we got her about 5 months ago. at first she used the litter tray with no issues at all, but then she started to occasionally poop on the floor. now she does it every day.
I clean the litter tray daily, and have started emptying it out completely a little more frequently than I used to in case she just wants it to be extra clean. we’ve been using the same kind of litter since we got her.
recently I managed to catch her as she was about to poop on the floor and she immediately ran away, then when I left she came back and used the litter tray, so I gave her treats and pets. the problem is, it seems like she intentionally does it when there’s no one around, like if I’m asleep or not at home, so it’s hard to stop her.
she originally only pooped in a specific area but the last two days she’s done it in a different room.
I’ve tried using less litter, but she seems to prefer it when I use more. I think I’m going to buy another litter tray today and I’ll see if she uses it.
what else can I do?
