Upcoming James Talarico & Gina Hinojosa Events

Given General Election season is starting next week, I thought I'd share upcoming rallies for James Talarico and for Gina Hinojosa. I think these are all the ones publicly scheduled/announced as of 5/22, though let me know if I've missed any.

Vikki Goodwin vs Marcos Velez on Medicaid Expansion?

As I consider my vote for the Dem nominee for Lt. Governor, my personal biggest issue is Medicaid Expansion.

Do any of you know where the candidates stand on that? I couldn’t find much on their campaign sites. I’m leaning toward Velez as I saw an article on CBS where Goodwin said:

> I know a lot of people ask me about expanding Medicaid and I would be for that, but there are a lot of issues with Medicaid expansion too; Doctors say that the reimbursement rate doesn't cover their cost of care, that oftentimes they aren't reimbursed for months on end, and sometimes that money is clawed back. And so why not come up with a Texas plan that serves the people of Texas?

And Velez said:

> That is a quick first step that we could take. I believe that we have enough revenue and enough resources in the state of Texas to come up with our own plan here within the state. But Medicaid expansion is quick, it's easy, and it gets the job done. And I think that's something that even Republicans are warming to.

It sounds like like Velez is more supportive but Goodwin looks like she’s leading in the polls, so curious on people’s thoughts on this.

I’m really struggling right now to contain my anger toward those who are completely addicted to wealth.

We are willing to send people to prison for addiction (in the west) and even sentence them to death (in the east) when it comes to things like physical drugs.

Yet when it comes to unbridled greed of the ultra wealthy billionaires who are so addicted to their net worths and projection of power on the weak, we treat them as astute businessmen worthy of praise and study.

Apologies if this isn’t exactly related to the LoO, but I’m just really struggling with this and and beginning to feel gaslighted in my environment and feel like I’m crazy for thinking this.

And I don’t actually believe anyone is beyond forgiveness, and I don’t believe in the death penalty as a concept,

But I’m really struggling right now in containing my anger toward these injustices toward the meek otherselves and would really just appreciate any input
