Attending a wedding with an 8-week-old — am I overextending myself? [On]
My husband and I have been invited to a wedding and I’d really like to attend to support the couple. It’s my husband’s friend, but they came to our wedding last year and were very generous, so I do genuinely want to make the effort.
The issue is that our baby will only be 8 weeks old. I don’t drive often and I’m honestly a bit nervous about driving alone with such a young baby. Does anyone know of taxi companies or transportation services the GTA would come pre-equipped with car seats? I’m aware of Beck taxis but I’m uncomfortable with not having a car seat.
Also, is it unreasonable to attend a wedding with an 8-week-old? Part of me wonders if I’m overextending myself postpartum, but another part of me feels like newborns are usually easier than older babies/toddlers at events. I’d love to hear from parents who’ve done it — or decided not to.
For context, baby would likely be worn most of the time and we’d leave early if needed.
Edited to add that husband is a groomsman in the wedding and will out for most the day with the groom.
