Please help: 27M, University of Melbourne grad, 3.5 yrs ops/marketing + education counselling. Need a job in Samarinda/Balikpapan (or remote)
Hi all, Im looking for a stable job in Samarinda/Balikpapan, remote/WFO, or any opportunities, would appreciate any leads or advice.
I'm 27, married, with a toddler son. I graduated from the University of Melbourne (bachelor of arts, double majors in Media Communications and Screen and Cultural Studies). Came home to Samarinda to build a career. For almost four years I worked at a private energy company, starting in social media and moving up into operations. Then the company liquidated before I was able to save anything meaningful yet.
I spent several months job hunting before joining an education agency in late 2025, but was let go in June. Since then Ive been floating around job apps, doing online surveys, and selling personal belongings to cover basics.
Right now my wife, our son and I are living in my parents house because we can't afford our own place. My parents are also struggling financially, so we barely survive by selling snack boxes. It covers food and my son's diapers, but not much beyond that.
I dont want to burden them any longer, and want to give my wife and son a fresh start. Open to learning whatever a role needs or work outside of marketing/media.
