The Dawn Phenomenon

The Dawn Phenomenon

Hi all -

Every morning my glucose starts to climb between about 5:30 and 6am until about 10am.

Nothing I've tried is helping to stabilize this time period.

Is there anything I can do?

The screenshot shows what happens to me every single day.

Different CGM's

Hi all

Was recently diagnosed with type 2.

Aside from the glucose test strips and lancets, I also have the Libre 3 Plus.

My question is, are there big differences between CGM's? Are some brands more accurate or reliable than others?

This is still very new to me, and I have so many questions.

Monk Fruit Extract

Hi all- recently diagnosed with type 2.

Am making changes to my diet and I'm wondering if anyone here uses monk fruit extract as a sweetner?

If so, how do you like it?

Buying a full bottle of Diptyque L'Eau Papier and have a question..

Do you think if I asked them to decant 10mm from the bottle I purchases, they would?

I would love if places provided this service when a client purchases a full bottle.

Would make taking it with you on trips, or just throwing it in your bag so much easier.

Couldn't Help Myself

They were so inexpensive that I ordered four.

The cucumber melon and pear berry are for my 15 year old niece.

Saltwater breeze and rainkissed leaves are for me.

Has anyone tried saltwater or rainkissed? They sound so light and fresh for the summer.

Two of my newest.

Quick Review:

Nishane Hundred Silent Ways is a delicious peaches and cream in vanilla.

I don't get much of the florals or vetiver in the dry down, it's just a delicious vanilla that's extremely well blended, not very sweet, and not cloying.

Gorgeous for the summer.

Imaginary Authors Peach of the Season

Starts off smelling like the leaves of a peach tree to me, but not in a natural way.

I can't even say I get any peach from it.

To me, it's so artificial that after the initial spray, all I can think of is what those older women in the 70s smelled like when they got their hair teased in a salon.

The hairspray that was used back then probably smelled like this fragrance - artificial, with no clear notes.

Just a synthetic mess.

An hour after I sprayed, it mostly stayed the same. Ar this point I just washed it off.

My Small Nishane Collection

These all great for the summer. Just so well blended and smell divine (I think).

Will definitely be adding another later this year.

Which one to a restaurant?

Going out with some friends tonight and wondering which to wear for a late dinner.

  1. Nishane Wulong Cha

  2. Nishane Wulong Cha X

  3. D'annam White Rice

  4. Serge Lutens L’Eau Serge Lutens. This reminds me of a better Diptyque L'Eau Papier.

I don't want the table over to smell me, but I don't mind getting whiffs of my perfume when I move around.

Which would you pick?

PDM Valaya or Nishane Hundred Silent Ways?

Which would you choose?

Side note: Hundred Silent Ways is the first vanilla that smells good on me, and not cloyingly sweet.

Which would you choose?

Side note: One hundred silent ways is the only vanilla I seem to like on me.

D&G Light Blue turned yellow.

My bottle is over a decade old.

Wondering if it's still safe to use?

I've never had a perfume discolor before.

Still smells the same, but the color is a bit concerning 😟

My Spring and Summer Fragrances.

Need to use up Replica Flower Market. Have had it for years but barely made a dent in the bottle.

Will also be adding D&G Light Blue in the summer. That's another one I need to finish.

I may also add my 10ml L’Eau Serge Lutens that was part of the Matin Lutens discovery set. My husband loves it, but I think it's just OK.

Based on my spring/summer scents, do you think I should sample anything else? Just no gourmands please

Thanks for looking and sharing any recs.

Weekend Trip

Hi all

Tomorrow morning we're driving up to Niagra Falls for the weekend. We're staying on the Canadian side at the Brock Niagra Falls - Fallsview.

The weather is going to be cool. Low 60's tomorrow and low 50's Saturday.

What fragrance would you take with you?

I adore Juliet Has a Gun Not a Perfume, so decided to try Oakcha Plus one after it was recommended in one of the fragrance subs.

The scent itself is lovely. I think I like it slightly more than Not a Perfume.

BUT, it has zero lasting power.

Less than 2 hours in I could barely smell it. By the third hour is was completely gone.

Literally no staying power.

I'm wondering if this is common for all Oakcha, Plus One, or just me?

Every three or four years when I start to run low on my staple fragrances, I go on a samples binge.

In the last month or so, I've ordered about 50 of them but have only loved one - Nishane Wulong Cha X.

Realized I need to explore more tea scents before committing to a bottle of Wulong Cha X, so ordered more tea fragrance samples.

Can you recommend others? Or your favorites that aren't on my attached order?

Thanks all.
