Are cowboy boots seasonal?

What I mean by seasonal is…

Do companies come out with boots every year at a certain time? I am new to boots. Currently have 2 pair and waiting on a third in the mail. But I have been shopping around and curious about when I could expect to see new styles/designs/colors or restock of stuff I like that says out of stock (if they every will come back in stock). Will I see one or two new styles every now and then? Or should I expect to see 10-20 new styles all at once, once a year? I hope that makes sense. I’m sure each manufacturer is different in little ways, but I hoping there might be some sort of loose schedule everyone loosely follows. Or maybe I’m completely off base and it completely random no matter the manufacturer or the time of year

Happy 4th of July Everyone! Stay safe out there in them cowboy boots!

Hell yeah! New Boot Hype!

These are my new Fenoglio Cookies N’ Cream elephant boots 10.5 D and I couldn’t be happier. Vamp: Cookies N Cream Elephant  | Top: Black Austin | Color: Black/Cream | Top Height: 12” | Toe: #1 | Heel: C | Sole: Black Ranch Tough | Proudly made in the USA | SKU:00101924

First Post! Below is a little story if you want a little light read. If not, enjoy the pics.

These are not my first pair of boots. They are my second pair. I started my boot journey by buying a $140 pair of Under Armor running shoes like I normally would once a year. I have worn sneakers all of my adult life. Well, not even 3 months into owning the sneakers. They broke, not beyond wearing, but it frustrated me enough that I questioned the type of shoes I was wearing. Fast forward a few days after some research, I landed on wanting a pair of cowboy boots. I grew up in the 90’s and my parents always had boots and a cowboy hat for me. I guess I just grew out of it living in the city. My dad always had Justin’s and Nocona’s (my dad named me Justin and I’m pretty sure it was because of the boots lol) so I figured I would follow suit.

So I went down to my local western store to get some boots. I did a little research on how they should fit, but figured when I got to the store. The people selling the boots would know a thing or two about them. I could not have been more wrong. To be fair, I live in Northern Comifornia so I don’t know why I expected anything else. Anyway, I get there, they ask me my shoes size and instantly start grabbing boots all around my size. A little smaller a little bigger and the same. I try them on (the ones I was able to get on my foot), all the guy keeps asking me is “do they feel good” and that was all. I really wanted a pair of boots and came to find the 10 EE seemed to fit the best so that is what I went with. They were Justin boots model Austin. Super basic boot and good starting point to see if I like the idea of cowboy boots. The little YouTube research I did, the boots had a little pop when my foot went in, my instep seems good and the ball of my foot was at the widest part. Blah blah blah.

Hop forward a couple of weeks after wearing them everyday around the house and anywhere I went. They broke in quickly. After breaking them in a little, I started noticing my foot having more and more room in the boot. The instep still felt nice, but my heel was swimming in the counter and I could pivot my foot without moving the boot. While coming to a quick change of direction or stop while walking would cause my foot to slide to one side of the boot or the other. Come to find out, I was ignorant in how cowboy boots should fit out of the box and I believe what I thought was a pop when I put the boot on was actually not enough of a pop. Apparently, it should be sort of difficult to put on a pair of boots at first which I was not aware of. When I was trying on boots. I was sitting down and just lifting my foot and trying to pull the boot on. If I met a little resistance. Then I thought the boot didn’t fit. Boy was I wrong.

After having issues with how much room was now in my boot. I took to the Tube again and started doing so research. This time, I wanted to find a quality boot brand rather than a cheap one and do it right. I really liked the boots, they just broke in and didn’t fit right anymore.

I ended on Fenoglio. I love the backstory of the company. They really seem to take pride in their work and have some unique looks that no one else has. I now know what brand so I figured the best thing to do is to call and explain my experience and ask what they recommended for sizing. Especially since I have heard how their sizing doesn’t line up with other manufacturers.

Got on the line with Fenoglio customer service and they asked me a bunch of questions and said I should try their 10.5 D. So, I found a pair of boots I wanted and bought them in that size and that leads us to boot delivery.

The boots were delivered and I tried them on. Man was that turn tough to pass with my foot going into the boot. But by standing up and putting my body weight on the boot while also pulling the pull tabs. My foot sunk into the boot and I shed a single tear of joy 🥲 lol. They fit like a dream. Pretty snug, but I believe this is what new boots are supposed to feel like. I had them on for 10-15 and no tingling in my feet so circulation seems good and I think I found the correct size. I went into this thinking I am 6ft 250ibs, there is no way I am not a EE. Well, I was wrong.

There are probably a few lessons in here. If you can, don’t just go to any western store. Go to a boot store where they know how to fit people for cowboy boots. Don’t assume your width size, try in as many sizes as you can. Don’t be afraid if the boot is a little tough to put on the first few times. If you are coming from sneakers, a firm fit is much different than a firm fit of a cowboy boot.

In conclusion, thank you to the Fenoglio staff for working with me to find my size OVER THE PHONE while my local store couldn’t do it with room full of boots. I am extremely happy. I might even wear these things to bed 🤣 if anyone actually read through this. I hope it helps someone out there on their boot journey.
