Cifs access log

Hello, I'm working for a client that has a 2 node fas cluster running ontap 9.11

They have several shares that are open access. Ie "Everyone / Full Control", they are needing to audit them to see who is accessing what in order to start tying things down for security purposes.

I am trying to figure out a way of capturing these logs...

So far I've tried

Enabling audit logs with "cifs-logon-logoff, file-ops, file-share" -

This captures the user id, but not what share they are actually accessing...

Enabling volume activity tracking

Dosnt seem to show me anything useful

I can see that ontap does have the information I need, as it is displayed when I manually run "cifs session show -fields windows-user,share-names".

Short of creating a cronjob to run every min and save the output then sift through it I can't see anyother way to capture it.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas....

Tyneside flat, old gas lines.......

Hello

Strange one but I'm curious and bored.....

Does anyone live in a Tyneside flat and have ever taken their entrance hallway back to brick?

The reason I ask is, I live in a Victorian/Edwardian house area, walking around my local streets, I have noticed little yellow stone inlays either side of people's front doors.

There seems to be 2 (1 either side of a doorway) on terrace houses and 3 (to the left and right of the pair or doors and one in the middle of them) on Tyneside flat entrances.

I have come to understand these were for a doorbell and a gas lamp, with Tyneside flats obviously having a 3rd for the second doorbell.

In my own house when taking some walls back to brick, I found old copper gas lines which were used to carry gas around the house for lamps.

Now back to my point....

It got me wondering, in a Tyneside flat, was it the upstairs or downstairs occupier that would have paid for this gas (used to light the front door area) and as such assumedly had the connection run through their flat?

So yeah my question is, has anyone taken a Tyneside flat back to brick and found an old cooper gas pipe which seems to lead too outside..and if so are you an upper or lower flat...?
