VSF Green Ombre Datejust review

This review focuses on the VSF Green Ombre Datejust, covering key details of the dial, case, and clasp.

  • Size: Available in 41mm and 36mm. For wrists 18cm and above, 41mm is recommended; below 18cm, 36mm is a better fit.
  • Dial: The new smoky green enamel dial has no radial pattern, with a smooth gradient and a color tone close to the genuine version.
  • Hands: Solid-center construction with smooth finishing and no visible rough edges or burrs.
  • Bezel & Case: High-gloss bezel with well-executed polishing and brushing. The case edges feature fine beveling, with a clear contrast between the brushed sides and polished center.
  • Clasp: The logo features deep engraving, with clear and well-defined details.

No TD should—or would—ever tolerate this kind of behavior.

Hello, guys. I am Leo at Time Ultra.

As a TD, we’ve always handled every order openly, honestly, and responsibly. But with order #T94520, we ran into a really bad case of a scammy customer. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and made compromise after compromise, only to end up with him keeping the watch, getting a full refund (plus extra), and still filing a PayPal chargeback against us.

To keep things fair and transparent in the community and stop any false accusations, here is the full timeline of what actually happened:

  • 2026/07/20: The customer paid a deposit, and we sent the QC photos the same day. Our PayPal account had a sudden issue, so we asked him to hold off on paying the rest of the money. He got annoyed, threatened to post a complaint, and sent the remaining payment anyway without checking with us. Even though the money was stuck due to our account issue, we decided to take the risk and ship out the watch.
  • 2026/08/05: He got the watch and complained about the strap quality. He also said it weighed 138g on his scale, compared to the 142g we measured before shipping. Keep in mind, he used a basic kitchen scale, while we use a precise scale. A 4g difference is completely normal between different devices.
  • 2026/08/06: To solve the issue nicely, we worked things out and sent him an initial refund of $250.
  • 2026/08/13: He messaged us again, demanding a Pepsi at a super low price. We said no, and then offered a full refund if he returned the watch. He refused to send it back and threatened a PayPal chargeback. To just put an end to the drama, we refunded the remaining $263 without making him return the watch. Combined with the $250 from August 6, we refunded $513 total—which was actually more than the $475 he paid us in the first place.
  • 2026/09/29: Even though we already over-refunded him ($513) and he kept the watch, we still got hit with a PayPal chargeback. On top of that, he even demanded that we send him a new watch before he would agree to cancel the chargeback. So he got the watch, got all his money back (and then some), and still tried to charge back to take even more money from us.

We never wanted this situation to deteriorate to this point, but he continues to threaten us. Looking at the whole picture—pushing payment through early, complaining over tiny details, keeping the watch after a full refund, and then filing a chargeback—this isn't just a regular buyer argument. It’s straight-up fraud.

Whether you're a fellow collector, enthusiast, or dealer, we all want to build a friendly, reliable marketplace in this hobby. We're sharing this so other sellers and community members know what to look out for. We are bringing this to light to warn fellow dealers and community members to stay vigilant against such tactics. Thanks to everyone for having our back!

ZF Tudor Black Bay 1958 review

This evaluation focuses on the ZF Tudor Black Bay 1958 equipped with the 2824 movement, providing a detailed look at the bezel, dial, and hands.

Exterior and Craftsmanship

Bezel: Features an aluminum insert with a black coating, delivering a distinct matte texture.

Lume Marker: The 12 o'clock pip is fully filled with a smooth, jade-like finish. The surrounding gold metal trim has a warm yellow hue that contrasts sharply with the red triangle, showing flawless execution.

Dial: The black matte textured dial features matte oil-printed text and the shield logo, matching genuine specifications. The hour markers have a muted matte glow that emits a green light under moonlit conditions.

Case and Bracelet

Crown : The embossed logo on the crown is well-executed (covered with a blue protective film). The polished case sides are immaculate, though the brushed finishing is slightly less refined.

Bracelet : The bracelet shows solid brushed finishing with polished side bevels. The unidirectional bezel rotates with a sharp, crisp click.

3285 Movement Breakdown

Hi, Leo at time ultra here. Today’s video takes an in‑depth look at the 3285 movement.

Dandong 3285 Movement

Coding and Engraving Craftsmanship: The VSF 3285 movement bears serial numbers starting with 1S9. Deep‑stamped engravings are crisp and well‑defined. The letter “A” features a flat‑top design finished with gilding, delivering an exquisite visual effect.

Teflon Gasket: The Teflon gasket on the Dandong movement is deep‑red in colour with fine polishing, offering superior texture compared to generic replicas.

Clutch Wheel Mechanism: A mirror‑polished clutch wheel sits at the 3‑o’clock position, delivering distinct mechanical feedback during operation. The hands jump when the crown is pulled out and drop back down once the crown is pushed home. The component rotates naturally while winding the watch.

Shock‑Absorber Profile: Unlike the three‑pronged shock‑absorber found on the Shanghai‑made movement, the Dandong variant generally comes with a single‑hole shock‑absorber — this serves as a key quick‑identification marker.

Free sprung 3285 Movement

Primary Identification Method: The most straightforward way to verify a free‑sprung movement is to stop the watch hands by pulling the crown, then check for timing screws on top of the balance wheel. Their presence confirms a genuine free‑sprung movement.

Engraving & Finish: All markings are deeply stamped and sharp. The letter “A” also adopts the flat‑top shape with gilded detailing for refined finishing.

Clutch‑Wheel Details: It is fitted with a mirror‑polished clutch‑wheel, delivering smooth operation and dynamic feedback nearly identical to the genuine movement.

Overall Build Quality: Watches equipped with this movement usually boast high‑end finishing on bracelets and exterior components, achieving a far‑higher overall build standard than entry‑level replicas.

Shanghai 3285 Movement

Structural Shortcomings: The Shanghai‑produced 3285 movement either lacks a clutch‑wheel assembly entirely or comes with a poorly‑finished clutch wheel. Its shock‑absorber has a prominent three‑pronged shape, creating a clear contrast against the single‑hole design of the Dandong 3235 movement.
