Cotswolds recs - 3 night solo female stay – walking, pubs, eats, antiques?

Looking for advice on where to base myself for 3 nights in the Cotswolds next June. Traveling solo (female, 50) from Monday–Thursday. I will have a car so I can explore during the day.

I’ve visited Cirencester and Tetbury in the past. Hiking/walking, antiquing, pubs, tea, old churches, wandering around the towns, etc. This time I’d like to explore a different part of the Cotswolds. Looking for:

  • Charming/walkable.
  • Good pubs/restaurants.
  • A little life after dinner. I’m not looking for a ragging party, just a pub where I can sit at the bar with a drink at 8pm and not feel like the whole town has gone to bed.
  • With antiques, independent shops, galleries, markets, etc - can drive for these!
  • Where I’d feel comfortable as a woman traveling alone.

Love meeting locals, but I am very comfortable eating or having a drink at a pub by myself. I’m much more interested in a town that feels lived-in than somewhere that exists mainly for tourists. I’m completely open to suggestions here.

If you lived locally and had a friend with these interests coming for three nights, where would you tell her to stay and why?

I’d also love recommendations for favorites - accommodations, pubs/restaurants, independent shops, antiques/thrift/charity stores.

Thanks!
