Texas Summer Heat AC Question

I just got a new apartment on the top floor of an older building in Dallas. It's like 100-102 degrees out during the hottest part of the day in the afternoon. I have my AC set to 71 and it will get up to 74-75 during the day because the unit can't keep up. Does that warrant a request to maintenance to look at and fix or just something that's expected to happen? I don't know anything about AC units, thanks!

Edit: I just shot into each of the air diffusers’ ducts with an Infrared Thermometer and the temperature across all of them was consistently 67. Not sure if that changes any opinions or not.

APAP/CPAP beginner question

I just received my machine in the mail yesterday. During my sleep test, I had a super low AHI (0.3) and an average RDI (9.0) so they prescribed me this machine. It shipped with the APAP mode enabled but the first night, the pressure never got above like 4.6 even though it’s a 4-12 and woke up again in the middle of the night. I see a few thread talking about switching it to a constant flow and just wanted to confirm that and what to start at, because the APAP didn’t really seem to help at all.

Second set of eyes on SleepDoctor Results

I (29M) got my results back from my at home sleep test and just wanted to get second opinions. There was no mention of UARS in my debrief, they diagnosed it as “Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea (G47.33) Based on a pRDI=7.8 and O2 nadir of 91%” which I see has been a common point in this page that they don’t actually diagnose UARS.

But ya based on the higher RDI score and super low AHI score, seems like UARS is more accurate? They said while you are relatively in the %s for the different sleep stages, the frequent jumps and lack of long periods in those stages is what is causing the lack of restoration.

I know these numbers are not nearly as bad as some the posts in here, I do feel like that night of the test I did get a decent sleep in but for the past 2-3 years and more so lately, it’s just been hard to get through the day without needing to lay down. I don’t feel nearly as sharp as I once was, can’t remember the last time I slept fully through the night or felt well rested when I woke up.

Thanks in advance

Sunnypilot Mazda Cruise Control

I have a Mazda CX5 with sunnypilot installed. I have the following settings set:

ICBM
ACC in the speed limit: Warning setting
VTSC (Visual Turn Speed Control)
MTSC (map turn speed control)

I noticed when I did cruise control on the highway (75 mph), something kept sending my set speed limit down to like 45 mph. Any idea which setting this would be for this? It was in pretty heavy traffic but traffic was moving definitely faster than 45 mph. I’m not sure I really understand each of these, so any clarity would help! Thanks!

Certs/courses for foundational tech teaching

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a Splunk Certified Consultant working on independent contracts. I have a solid handle on Splunk and data pipelines and high level infrastructure, but I want to broaden my overall technical foundation. Specifically, I want a deeper, ground-up understanding of tech infrastructure, what systems are actually saying when they log, and core cybersecurity items.

I don't care about the actual certificate for my resume or HR checkboxes. I am purely looking for high-quality, deep, conceptual teaching that fills in some gaps in my

I’ve heard of like the CCNA and Security+ but curious what else I should look into. Thanks in advance!

Quieter neighborhoods/apartments near uptown?

My lease is coming up and was hoping to get some advice.

Me and my girlfriend are 29 and currently live in Uptown and, completely my own fault for choosing this area, I just can't handle the airplane noise anymore. It's gotten to the point where I have to sleep with my sound machine on max and wear earbuds every night and even that most nights doesn’t stop me from waking up.

I really love being down in this part of town since it keeps me close to my friends, so I'd prefer not to move too far away. Does anyone have recommendations for other neighborhoods in and around downtown, that somehow avoid the direct flight paths from Lovefield?

Or good apartment recommendations where you actually can’t hear them flying over would also help.

Would appreciate any recommendations or advice you guys have. Thanks!
