I have an Ipad 9th gen with a bad home button. It seems as though it still recognizes touch ID as when the original button is installed it does not give me the error message, but the click input is not being recognized at all.

The actuator is missing from the original, but even with a replacement in I still have no response when the button is clicked.

I do get the touch ID error with the new one installed. I have examined the area around the zif connector for the home button and haven't found any damage. All pins are intact and connected.
