A few questions from someone trying to get into the game

Hi everyone! I've recently picked the Fulda Gap starter set. Is there anything I need to know as a new player? Outdated books or new things (I'm aware of the new Brits and Soviet box) I should be aware? Basics I should start by buying first? Thanks in advance.

The new Afrika Korps and 8th army platoon leaders are great.

It's always great to get new models for your army. I had a lot of fun painting them and it took me about an hour to finish both.Really excited to continue with the rest.
