22 and financially illiterate and needing advice

Hi I’m 22F, a full time cosmetology student, working two jobs, renting an apartment with my boyfriend 24M and struggling to keep afloat. I’m in roughly 5k worth of credit card debt due to an awful economy and an over saturated job market, taking out credit cards to pay the water and electric bill and put food on the table. A couple weeks ago I found out I lost my Pell grants for school and now owe about 8k before September 16th. My bank account is constantly in the negatives and my credit cards have bombed my credit score. I’m more than willing to give more info, but if you were me, how would you make this happen? To be debt free by September with all expenses paid? Bare minimum how would I get the ball rolling to start paying down that debt while saving for these school payments?

22 and financially illiterate needing help/advice

Before you ask, yes my boyfriend works. He works 12 hr shifts in a factory full time. He’s he also contributes to the house, rent groceries, utilities etc. he contributes more financially than I can. He also has his own credit cards he’s working on. This isn’t about him and what he does, bc he has done more for me than I will ever be able to pay him back for in this life time.

Furthermore, there is no need to talk down to me considering everyone of you are ALSO in this subreddit. This is my first time being alive. I know it’s easier to be rude than it is to be kind, but I promise showing even the smallest iota of empathy has a greater, more rewarding pay off.
