What is the real long-term game plan for Hypixel?
As we all know, 1.8 is a dying game mode. It’s increasingly distanced from modern mc and “the meta”, and a flowering of new servers are having huge success with SMP’s. Hypixel, while modernizing skyblock, has done nothing like this. And what about bedwars, Skywars? Skywars is half dead already compared to pre Covid, and bedwars, while still fun, is slowly losing relevance because of sweats and hacking. What about the dead games, the ones with 5 players? They were the first to go when 1.9 dropped. So what I’m essentially asking is what Hypixel is ever gonna do. I’m picturing something like duels being split in half between 1.8 and 9, and something similar for the other game modes. But, that might allocate server resources much less efficiently. So what are your thoughts?
