Got the reanimated buzzster back, took it on a road trip - and have more questions

My Buzz deserted me on my very first trip with it (some might remember). It got repaired, I flew up to get it and took it on a shortened overnight road trip. Not in a remote camping area as originally planned but to a 'regular' campground, as I was a bit worried in case it might go cablooey again. Good news: it didn't.

More good news: Sleeping in the buzz is fab - like a regular bed, very comfy.

But there are a few really weird quirks I was hoping someone could help me with: is it possible to switch the 'headlights go on when car is activated' off somehow? I got into trouble with the people across from me because the lights flashing whenever I opened the door bothered them. I almost gave myself an UTI in the middle of the night because I was trying to avoid the damn lights...

Also: is there a way to keep the smart roof transparent over night? I was very disappointed, as that was the reason I bought the first edition - to lie in the buzz and look at the stars. Please someone tell me there is a way to achieve a clear roof overnight!

And (I'm afraid I know the answer to that one): is there a way to use the Buzz monitor if out of range of any phone signal?

Apart from that - the buzz is a great road-tripper.

And, turns out - the charging stops were one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. I landed in cute towns I never would have stopped in, stopped at funky little cafes right next to charging stations, people watched with a lovely hot drink while the buzz was getting fed and stopped at a few very quirky places for lunch or dinner.

All in all - it wasn't perfect -yet. But I can see good times on the horizon if I manage to unwrinkle a few wrinkles. (And the car didn't spontaneously die on me this time, hooray - low bar, I know, but whew.)

Next adventure: taking my two very big dogs for an overnighter on July 4th...

I am 300 miles from home - and the buzzster just died

Ok. I am on what was supposed to be my first road trip in my brand new buzz.

Made it up the coast to SF, staid with family and just set out to my first night camping in the buzz. On my first stop in SF I got the 12 V error and the car refused to go into gear, so can’t be driven at all. (Thank god I managed to get to the side of a residential road and didn’t stop in the middle of the road).

Called road side assistance and they towed my buzzy to the nearest VW dealer. I am sitting waiting for the result of their first check to decide what’s next.

I’ve read up on the 12 V error. Hoping they can just replace the 12 V battery, but we will see.

Does anybody have any advice what I should ask or look out for?

Sliding doors won’t open

Both sliding doors stopped working. I was in a parking garage and it feels almost as if there was some signal mix up - stepped to the car with the key in my pocket and tried to open one side door by touching the handle - it made an unlocking sound but didn’t move, sounded as if gears were grinding. The other side the same. I am getting the message that the doors are open - but they aren’t. I locked the whole car, stepped away from the car with the key for a while, came back - the doors won’t open.

Does anybody have any idea?

Uuuuuhhh…?

So, I love my new buzz. It is SO much fun to drive. However , there are a few weird quirks that puzzle me, too,

First problem: the right hand back window does not open/close properly. When I try to open it, the window on its way back stalls and sometimes reverses direction. Twice it wouldn’t close and I had to inch it forward inch by inch before it finally was closed again.
It almost feels as if it gets caught in the track. Has anybody experienced something like this?

Then: I somehow constantly flip the side mirrors in while driving. How? And how can I reverse it and flip them back out?

Also: whenever I start the car the sound starts at a pretty low level. Is there a way to make it be louder right from the start?

Any advice welcome!

New Buzz! And… please help this idiot out.

It just arrived! And it drives! And is the greatest car ever! Apart from… for the life of me I can’t get the dang second row back into position.

I am fully aware there has to be a release lever. Somewhere. Is it a code? The grey one on the shoulder on, twice the black one?

I feel like a right moron - but I can’t figure it out. Help?!?

Tesla home charger

I bought a buzz today!!! And I am very excited!

But also a bit confused. I am coming from a Tesla and I have a Tesla level 2 charger at home. When I test drove the buzz the sales guy told me that I could charge the buzz with my Tesla charger - they sold the car with an adapter included. That was total news to me - and actually one of the reasons the buzz suddenly became a viable option.

Now I bought the car from a different dealer. Just to be on the safe side I asked the sales guy to confirm the car came with the NACS adapter (of course, after I had signed on the dotted line, so I wasn't terribly interesting at that point). He pretty consistently ignored the question, which to me is sales people speak for "nuhu it doesn't!". Okay, fine. So I go online to see what a level 2 VW adapter costs, in case the car appears without one.

And I can't find an official VW adapter, only the NACS fast charger adapter. So what's with that? Was the first sales person putting me on? That... would be a weird thing to do. He also was very specific that it would come with the right adapter (checked back with my friend who test drove the car with me). Did I misunderstand?

What do you use to charge at home with a level 2 Tesla charging station?
