“Only in Hyderabad: Reported an Accident to Cyberabad Police, Got Told to Contact Cyberabad Police 🤦♂️”
Had a pretty frustrating incident in Bachupally today. An auto driver deliberately drove into my car and damaged my bumper. When I confronted him, he became aggressive, threatened to call his “goons,” and then blamed me for supposedly speeding even though we were in heavy traffic. The auto itself was covered with stickers across the windshield that appeared to restrict visibility and had several aftermarket modifications.
I took photos of the damage, auto and number plate and reported the whole incident to Cyberabad Police on their listed WhatsApp number. Their response? “This is Cyberabad (Telangana) Police, please contact your local Police.”
The ironic part is that Bachupally falls under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. I wasn’t expecting instant action, but at least directing the complaint to the correct station/unit would have been helpful. What’s the point of having a public complaint channel if citizens just get redirected without proper guidance?
