Arctis Nova Pro Wireless Base Station Stuck On “FIRMWARE UPDATE AVAILABLE”
I couldn’t get the firmware update to show in SteelSeries GG at first, but I finally got it working using a very specific sequence. I’m sharing the exact steps that worked for me.
- Completely uninstall any previous version of SteelSeries GG using Revo Uninstaller (to remove all leftover files and registry entries.
- Download and install SteelSeries GG (GG72 version in my case).
- Right-click the installer and run it as administrator.
- Let the installation fully complete.
- After installation finishes, wait about 1–2 minutes before doing anything else.
- Connect the Arctis Nova Pro base station (USB DAC) directly to the laptop/PC. Do not use a USB hub.
- Once connected, wait another 2–3 minutes without opening anything.
- Open SteelSeries GG as administrator.
- If it asks you to log in, skip or ignore it. Login is not required for firmware updates.
- Once GG opens, do not click anything at all.
- Wait 2–5 minutes without interacting with the software. This step is important — the system needs time to detect the device and firmware state.
- After waiting, the firmware update prompt should appear automatically.
- Start the update and do not disconnect anything during the process.
- Once the update is complete, restart SteelSeries GG.
- After restarting the software, I also recommend unplugging and reconnecting the base station once just to refresh the connection.
- The key part that worked for me was the waiting periods (before opening GG and after opening it).
- Do not log in before the update appears.
- Do not interact with Sonar or any setup screens.
- Do not unplug anything during the update.
- Restarting SteelSeries GG after the update helped stabilize everything.
