Landscape lighting - Costco Volt lighting brightness
I’m planning a full landscape lighting setup and trying to choose between Harbor Breeze and VOLT.
Back in 2021, I installed the Harbor Breeze kit below. I liked the brightness and the overall look, but the quality hasn’t held up and few lights have failed. The path lights are 60 lumens and the spotlights are 180 lumens.
Harbor Breeze:

So I recently picked up the VOLT kit from Costco:

But I noticed that the VOLT kit has 300 lumen path lights and 350 lumen spotlights!! Wondering if that’s too bright!
Has anyone here gone for the Volt kit and found it too bright ? Do the 300-lumen path lights and 350-lumen spotlights end up looking too bright in a typical suburban yard, or do they come across as softer because of better optics?
For context, here’s what I’m planning:
● Front: 5 spotlights and 7 path lights covering about 400–600 sq ft of front beds and walkway around a 2,200 sq ft, three-car garage home.
● Backyard: 7 spotlights and 7 path lights across two beds, each roughly 40 ft long by 5 ft wide.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s installed or designed the Volt kit from Costco.
