how do i get into ucla?

hello, so i am a rising sophomore and i really want to go to ucla. i was wondering if I could get some details about what ecs to do and how to imporve what i already have. Intended major: comp bio/neuroscience/biochem. I really want to go to ucla just because of the events that happen at ucla, i went to like lab tours and stuff, theres just so many random events happening that I just enjoy it a lot.

  1. Science Fairs - regional level this year i got honorable mention, so 1 spot off of states, i do want to do like research a lot and maybe isef one day. will start cold emailing in august.

  2. Science Olympiad - my school isnt really crazy with science olympiad, but i enjoy the basic structure and how it works. I am going to be secretary for my school next year. we were really close to states this year but hopefully we do make it to states.

  3. Environmental Club Founding Member - Helped like remodel an overgrown landscape part of my school into a functioning garden

  4. going to make neuroscience club next year

  5. I was a volunteer at the red cross last yr and this yr im a leader

  6. i volunteered at kumon last year, idk about this year but i did 45 hours last year.

Coursework (main ones):

9th grade: alg 2, hon eng, ap bio

10th grade: ap chem, ap precalc, ap world, hon english, hon chem (its weird)

11th grade: ap lang, ap physics c, calc bc, apush, apcsp, and a couple dual enrollemtnets

12th gradeL ap lit, ap env, ap stats, ap gov, honlinear algebra, (maybe honors discrete math)

Does anyone know any like cool ucla events or lab to check out? Or like any other competitions for high schoolers that UCLA likes?

rising sophomore interested in t20s and research

hello, i wanted some advice on my ec's so far and what I could do in the future to improve upon.

  1. Science Fair (got honorable mention at county for biochem, but i also do live in a competitive region, i am planning to at least go to states next year because i was only 1 spot off this year)

  2. Science Olympiad - my school isnt really good at science olympiad, but I do enjoy just how the thing works. I do have leadership as i am secretary next yr.

  3. Environmental Club Founding Member - Helped like remodel an overgrown landscape part of my school into a functioning garden.

  4. Going to make neuroscience club

  5. Red Cross - Volunteered last summer, but now I have leadership in a program but I do get hours still

  6. Might get biology club leadership

  7. I volunteered at Kumon as a teacher last summer (idk abt this summer) - around 45 hours

Note: I was wondering if getting a 4 in like bio, which i kinda wanna major in is bad.

i want to like do more research based things so if you have any advice feel free to like share!
